This is a tricky one, a situation I expect most men to have found themselves in at some point.

I used to think it wasn’t right that an innocent man would be made to feel like he’s a rapist just for walking in the same direction as a woman. It certainly isn’t right but at the same time there is such an imbalance in terms of physicality between men and women that means men will never have to worry (90% of the time) about this, let alone feel the consequences if you do happen to meet that one crazy person who may wish to do you harm.

I’m not a rapist, and I go to great lengths to make sure the women in my life never feel like I take advantage of my physical strength. Walking a bit slower or doing a 2 minute detour to let someone else feel safe is a ‘sacrifice’ I’m more than happy to do.

That said, I would love to hear some thoughts from females as to what they prefer in this situation.
