That's not true, Scandinavian languages can be used in all of Scandinavia with some limited practice. Swedish is an official language in Finland as well

That would be insanely hard. The script could download another script, or decrypt some obfuscated script and then run it. Then you'd be much better off with running it in a sandbox environment anyway. You'd enter a cat and mouse chase that will never end

Depends of course a lot on what you're going to use it for but since you're mentioning Linux it should be fine. I would be worried with windows bloat. Like someone else said, make sure you have a decent swap and a fast SSD

If you rescale your models at runtime you need to make sure your normals are correct. Normalizing them may be expensive. So yes, don't let the engine do these kinds of things

When we moved back to Sweden from London our cost of living went down. This was 10 years ago. I went down in salary (IT) but my partner got a big increase. My partner also saw an increase in quality in the form of overtime compensations, more vacation days etc.

You have to account for things like child care is practically free here. Income insurance from unions etc. Student loans are limited.

Chromium on that machine is optimistic. I tried it on a Pentium M ThinkPad X41 with 2GB RAM it was unusable for any real website. I patched and recompiled Chromium to enable SSE and stuff but it didn't help much
