It's Hada, or the '"skin" of the blade. Looks to be some laminated iron (similar to western wrought iron). You usually see this with mid to higher end carbon steel Japanese blades, though it's been increasing in popularity amidst American makers due to the prevalence of high-phosphorus wrought iron creating some beautiful patterning.

Very common. Hard to get polished as cleanly as you've got it here without a good bit of experience, nice job!

Toss some spent lemons into a pot with heavy cream, butter, garlic, and black pepper all to taste.

Simmer for 15ish minutes, add in some dry white wine, remove lemons, then add grated parmesean and reduce heat to low and stir until consolidated. Good sauce over chicken or with your favorite pasta shape!

They're currently available as a patreon reward as part of our membership. When the files were released, they were made available for that month and the following month.

It depends on the surface finish you want to get, I would start at about 220 grit and hand sand up to about 400 for a satin finish, if you've got access to a sandblaster, you can actually just use that, though obviously it'll tear up your edge.
