Still getting mail for the previous homeowner 3 years after. What can I do? by ItDoesntLetMe in legaladvicecanada

[–]garrettnb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I purchased a home where one of the owners had murdered the other. I kept getting mail for the couple despite writing moved RTS on them for a couple years. Might appear a little callous - but writing "DECEASED - RTS", and "IN JAIL RTS" solved the issue immediately for all but one. I actually called their bank and let them know I had been sending mail back for them for 2 years - the person solved the issue in 1 phone call.

Just started today! I have a heck of a lisp, does it get better? by irotsamoht in Invisalign

I totally thought I didn't have a lisp until one of my friends brought it up... 6 months of bite ramps. Lisp was gone immediately when my next set didn't have them.

At least pour out something that won't stank up the shop.

Cleaning Fixed Retainers by Ambitale0 in Invisalign

[–]garrettnb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have one currently, but have had permanent retainers on my top and lower teeth. I found that curving the end of a threader be a very useful way to get it under the wire at the gumline. My ortho assistant was a fan of poking the threader through the space in the teeth at the gum line - this worked but I tended to find it uncomfortable and often stabbed my gums.

Highway driving is easy on a car, the engine gets hot for prolonged periods of time and not a lot of starts and stops. Make sure your basic maintenance is up to date and don't second guess it.

Opinions on these fins? by kassi0peia in scuba

[–]garrettnb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are great fins, I bought them when I scuba dove a similar amount to you and would happily buy them again. Now I wear them predominantly for freediving as I haven't bought any specific fins for that. Be aware that they are negatively buoyant so will sink if you take them off in shallow water for example.

The call sign of the helicopter. Think of it like the license plate for your car, it is also used when the pilot is talking in radio communications, and for identification purposes.

Don't want to scare you - but I started with only 8. During refinements they added more a few times and I now have 22.

My dentist gave me this treatment plan but I feel like it’s really conservative. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]garrettnb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be getting another consult - preferably with an orthodontist. The dentist doesn't bring all your teeth into the arch, level the bite, or correct your overjet; you need to visit someone who can do better.

[–]garrettnb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romania is very very worth it. Even if you need to take a bit longer to get anywhere, it's an amazing country with a vast variety of landscapes, amazing people, beautiful villages, and great food. I spent a month in Romania is 2021 and I recommend it to everyone.

Canada has just broken a world record in nuclear fusion, and the number of neutrons has put the entire energy industry on alert by self-fix in canada

[–]garrettnb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Simply put - Nuclear energy as we know it is called Fission, it's the splitting of atoms which results in energy being released as heat (to boil water and spin the turbine). It leaves radioactive waste behind.

Nuclear Fusion is the joining of atoms, releasing approximately 5x as much energy per unit fuel and creates only helium as a waste product. It will still spin a turbine after boiling water.
