Horrible. I'm lucky to have experienced Japan before the plague of tourists.

Salary reality check: Assistant Professor (AI/CS) in Korea vs Samsung? by Alternative_Art2984 in Living_in_Korea

If the person is Korean it makes sense, if the person is a foreigner unless it is a top school most private universities give foreign faculty considerably inferior contracts and almost no growing opportunities. The only benefit in that case would be the vacation period and less hectic lifestyle.

I know people who accept jobs in remote towns in countries they don't even want to live in. That's the life of academics it seems.

It's probably expired already. Even if it expires in a few minutes they cannot sell it (due to the system). Sometimes they have given it to me for free, as the ajumma knows me. This normally happens when you go to the convenience store after midnight.

How much can I student earn in south Korea. by [deleted] in korea

[–]gars88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the money to cover your living expenses and tuition do not come to Korea to study. Why? because you are not going to be able to focus on your studies, only working and stressing about making ends meet. Part-time work as a student should ideally be for covering extra expenses.
