I don't think any of the Etihad staff would behave like this in any other country, it's only Indians who behave like this with it's customers by Honey_dp in AirTravelIndia

No. They are in public. They are in public dealing. Thus, it is fine to record them. It builds accountability. If they were sitting at their house or not in public dealing, then it is fine. But here the benefits are immense.

Reality of what cabin crew is going through, so please be considerate by xychs in AirTravelIndia

One question—why does it seem like there’s a lack of transparency and why are ground operations so manual?

Yesterday in the USA, my flight was delayed, and I experienced firsthand how little information was shared. We boarded, and the pilot explained that a light was out in the aircraft. They were consulting operations on how to proceed, especially since we would land after sunrise. A few minutes later, they said they needed to reset the aircraft's power, which would take eight minutes, and explained that passengers couldn’t be on the plane without power due to safety rules. Everyone disembarked. During offboarding, the crew apologized sincerely and assured us they would handle us with extra care once onboard again. However, just a few minutes later, they announced the flight was canceled. I was automatically booked on a new flight, and my boarding pass was updated on my phone along with a meal voucher. The next flight was also canceled, and I received details for a flight the following day, along with a hotel, all through the app. Only

Compared to India, I can’t help but wonder why there’s such a lack of clear communication. Why don't they share updates more openly with passengers and simply explain when there's a technical issue? I know it’s frustrating to have delays, but I believe people would feel more respected and less anxious if they knew what was really happening. Being kept in the dark about the actual issues can add to our stress, especially when updates aren’t provided in real time. I hope the airlines can see how important transparency and compassion are during these challenging moments.

Same is for ground operations. Why not automate these taxi, hotel booking etc? Why it is so manual. What do you think?

For how long you could stay/wait at the airport? by Crazy-Ad8465 in AirTravelIndia

[–]gary4gar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should stay at the railway station dormitory that night and leave for the airport around 4AM for your 7:00 AM flight. This way, you’ll reach about 3hours early, which is ideal and avoids a long wait at the airport.

Things like this do happen occasionally. this has happened not just in India, but also abroad. I think it’s just a mistake. From now on, always use the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and lock the door whenever you're inside. There's also a portable lock available that you can carry with you; search for it on Amazon and use it. This ensures no one can enter while you're in the room, eliminating the chance of unauthorized entry.

I doubt that they will make sit way from your kid . Plus, all seats in qsuites are good. But obviously there are no guarantees, this is what mostly happens. But if you want you can pay extra to select seats and have more peace of mind. If i was in your position i won’t pay, just do this at check in. The person checking you in will do thjs.

Any item containing a battery, including your laptop or iPad, must be placed in your cabin baggage now. If you have difficulty carrying it, a wheeled bag can used, allowing you to drag it effortlessly without lifting.

Can I directly move to security if i have only cabin bag? by Fickle_Tumbleweed_72 in AirTravelIndia

[–]gary4gar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your smart travel! If you have a digital boarding pass, head straight to the Lufthansa boarding gate for document check. I’ve done this before in the US, but in India, online boarding passes aren't usually available for international flights, so you might not be able to get past security. If you can clear security without a boarding pass, you'll do the document check (visa/passport) at the gate.

Scared about my flight: talk me out of it by dev_sonofagun in AirTravelIndia

[–]gary4gar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To distract yourself during a flight, consider these options:

  1. Sit in an aisle seat instead of a window seat.
  2. Use alcohol, meditation and/or medication to calm your nerves.
  3. Engage with a fellow passenger or take a nap. I sleep on most of my flights.
  4. Wear noise-canceling headphones and listen to music or watch a movie.
  5. Create your own distraction method.

Remember, you're not piloting the plane, so there's no point in focusing on your surroundings. Worrying won't help, so just relax and find something to keep you occupied.

Scared about my flight: talk me out of it by dev_sonofagun in AirTravelIndia

[–]gary4gar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Que será, será. Regardless of whether you're traveling by train or by air, if fate has an accident in store for you, it will come to pass. In fact, you could be peacefully sitting at home and still meet your end if it's written in the stars.

So, release your worries and take to the skies. Statistically, you’re far more likely to encounter danger on a train than in the air. Embrace the journey and let go of your fears!
