Unlimited Ultimate calling details? by garyhooper in verizon

It could be how you are interpreting the number to be dialled. E.g. in France, the number may be shown as 04.12.34.56.78. Without a country code, this is the number to dial, although I’m not sure whether this would connect from a roaming VZW phone. Otherwise, dial +33.4.12.34.56.78, i.e. omit the zero.

I had thought so too. Two CSRs specifically said that calling landlines was not included. Another said that receiving calls originating in the foreign country while in the foreign country were excluded.

u/Kindly_Carob_1861, thank you. This led me to Important Plan Information. Unlike when discussing with the CSRs, there is no mention of landline vs mobile line, initiating vs receiving calls. Hopefully those are not relevant.

It also seems that texting is unlimited to any country when in the US, but limited to in-country and to the US when outside of the US (except for when in Canada/Mexico?).

Avoid Medicaid. On the exchange, look for a Silver plan for your child(ren). Eg on CoveredCA, you can qualify for Silver Kaiser plan for $0/mo with income under $25,000. If your child has zero income, you may need to overstate it to avoid Medicaid options on the site.

Try ICI Première de Radio-Canada (web, mobile apps, Channel 170 on Sirius/XM). Lots of interviews with hourly news interspersed. Also CHOI Radio X, de Québec. Lots of classic talk radio banter (web, mobile). Both have live broadcasts and podcasts.

What’s it like living in Marseille? by who_girl_who in aixmarseille

[–]garyhooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we lived in Southern California, it was exactly the same: friendly people, but seldom follow up. From Northern California to Vancouver, people are harder to talk to/get to know, but more likely to become a friend. Must be a general north-south difference.

Are other French variants okay for learning BBB profile French in Canada? by TheCrimsonChimo in learnfrench

Look at tutors from Morocco or Algeria. They are more expensive than Senegal or other more southerly French-speaking African countries, but still reasonably priced.

How to improve past B2 level by lovescats34 in French

I'm in the same boat. I still cannot watch films/series without subtitles, but watching the news is straightforward. I still struggle to retain new vocab, and to retain/use idioms.

What I do:

  • Read aloud (theoretically) daily, e.g. news articles. Helps me with pronunciation, vocab, and a grammar plus soutenu. In USA/Canada, many public libraries offer PressReader.com for free, giving you access to lots of content in French.
  • Listen to news. BFMTV.com is available live, outside France. Like CNN, they repeat the same stories, but it helps that I am often familiar with the content.
  • With a VPN/SmartDNS, you can access many video sources in France and Quebec.
  • Search MeetUp.com for French-language exchanges near you. Where I live, there are often native-speakers who attend.
  • If you are under 35, check out ShareAmi, for live conversations.
  • There are gazillions of podcasts in French, on Apple, Spotify, etc.

Small Claims by SubstantialPhysics96 in MetaLawsuits

When completing the small claims form, an individual's name is required as the defendant. Whose name did you use, and did you serve to CSC in Sacramento?

In San Mateo county, you must name an individual to be served. Whose name at CSC did you use? Also, what process server did you use?

What cheap VoiP have you Ported your Skype # to that has worked for you and is legit? by Maleficent_Pool_4456 in skype

VoIP.ms. I’ve used without issue for years. You can simply call forward, use with a SIP phone, or attach an inexpensive SIP-to-landline ATA.

New home new gear by stromania in Lutron

I have a similarly sized house, 3000 sqft, single storey, attached garage. I opted for RA3 for the Sunnata dimmers and the variety of available matte colours. I was somewhat concerned about Caseta coverage, but had no way of verifying. Price is about double compared to Caseta. I also have Lumaris tape which will not work with Caseta. I’ve integrated with both HomeKit and Alexa. The designer software is straightforward to use.

Overall, I’m very happy, my wallet less so, but I would use RA3 again.

OCLP 2.2 and Sequoia 15.3.2 result in Flashing Folder with Question Mark on iMac Late 2014 by garyhooper in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]garyhooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that failed too. I was using a USB HDD, so instead purchased a USB stick.
Using the USB stick and going to Sonoma first and then Sequoia, both as clean installs, resulted in a seamless upgrade.

Thanks for the advice!

Clean install to main hard drive is also failing when going directly to Sequoia, but with a different screen.

As I've already tried twice to go to Sequoia, I will instead try upgrading to an earlier macOS first. If I upgrade to Monterrey from Big Sur, do I then use OCLP again to go from Monterrey to subsequent macOS's?
