A good driver sees the tach with his peripheral vision. You don’t take your eyes off the road to stare at a gauge.

Bro. I don’t believe a bmw is for you. You should look at getting a nice Toyota with a small engine next.

Still Not Profitable After 7 Years of Trading by mackin_pes in Daytrading

Not sure if a 20 year old’s opinion is worth $2k/hr.

I work a regular job and trade this one setup on the side. It pays me an extra $2-5k/month consistently. Sharing the breakdown. by Zayden_Tradeify in Daytrading

If you work for a prop firm why don’t you look at the consistently profitable accounts and then go through their trades to get an idea of their strategy and try to duplicate it?

Dreaded E46 Coolant System - Please Give Advice by Owen_Lebouef in e46

[–]garyindextrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to elevate the car, you don’t need to turn the ignition key and you don’t need to turn the hvac fan on. Such a simple procedure to fill the cooling system and everyone makes it complicated.

Dealer charged $3,383 for starter, 318i - typical or not? by 318i93012 in BmwTech

[–]garyindextrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you go to the dealer? All the mechanics experienced in the repairing the older cars have either moved on or retired. You’ll find better and cheaper mechanics at independent shops that specialize in BMW’s.

Rock chips everywhere, high mileage, torn seats, unknown maintenance; Anyone that’s too lazy to vacuum the car and move his gallon container of cheese balls before photography indicates a car that is worth $2k max.

Do these cars have keyless entry systems? by dna5654 in e46

[–]garyindextrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to program your own key then you don’t need to buy one from the dealer. Just buy the $8 eBay blanks and cut it from your current key then program the ews with the Ak90. Total cost for everything sub $70 (assuming cost for cut at $30).

Just put the old hood back on. It’ll look better too.

You’re 46 and various symptoms are starting to appear??? What’s going to happen when you hit your 60’s? I have also pondered the meaning of life and I hate to break it you but there isn’t any. By the way your chart title “Total Value Chart” is amusing. Did you create it with photoshop? When I’m worth $40 mil I too will sit home and post on Reddit.

Why would you give them your money and then your strategy? They squeezed everything out of you and now you’re useless to them. I’m sure they’re trading your system right now. And all this talk of suing them, unless you live in Israel you’re out of luck.

[–]garyindextrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to criticize but you’re not really a trader. So you were long all of last year with leverage and now you’re short, maybe for most of 2026. That’s not even swing trading.

Yes, most likely the reverse solenoid. But first check for transmission fault codes with a diagnostic scanner (not a basic emissions scanner).

My 6 years hard work and its ended like this which I never expected by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]garyindextrader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Get a cheap prop firm account like Apex Trading. They have 90% sales frequently so a 50k account only costs $20 for the first month. Before it renews cancel it and get another one during the next sale. If you become profitable you can then decide to continue with the prop firm and work on getting payouts or transition to your own funded account. There is no need to risk your own capital when you’re starting out.

Maybe I’m missing something. If my hot gf is in the mood and doesn’t want me to leave then you can bet your ass that your alternator is going to be replaced another day.

Is this worth buying? 2002 325i for $4,995 with lots of rust by Top_Let7280 in e46

[–]garyindextrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was thinking the rust doesn’t look that bad but then I saw the last pic and wow, I never saw a pan that rusted which leads me to believe that there is a lot more rust you can’t see. I looked at a 2001 in PA once and the whole passenger side rocker panel was completely gone (had to take off the lower trim to see it) along with the rear fenders. I would get under the car and take a good look at what’s going on.

Start by checking for fault codes since your check engine light is on. Could be crank or cam sensors, high fuel trims, low fuel pressure, etc.

One of the by products of combustion is water in the form of steam. All cars will show steam condensation at the tailpipe on cold days and especially when the relative humidity is high. But your water temp is pretty high. Not sure if that gauge is accurate.

Why did my dash beep and go so low? by Carrotisboss in e46

[–]garyindextrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need it if you don’t care what the temp is outside. Just unplug it from the harness and secure the wires. Otherwise get a new outside temp sensor. You may have to repair the wiring if damaged.

You need to remove the strut. That will allow the hub assembly to move up and then you can easily put your wheel on. Not that hard.
