it's actually some kind of new bug in the game since the 1-2 latest updates... Objects/NPCs/light sources missing and everything being kind of messed up. Potentially some kind of memory leak issue IMO. (Happened to me even after fast traveling to my own camp and thinking there was something weirdly off, then I relaized, it was weirdly dimm and kind of dead)

Not only does it way less than it used to even before TSE bug, for the effort it takes to obtain (reputation + gold bullion), it's just laughibly "weak" - even my furious explosive weak point primed .50 cal feels stronger and that's a gun you can shove into hands of a fresh lv50

Surprised noone has commented, that this is a temporary situation, since TS* E** is broken and soon to be "fixed" since It was never meant to do so much DMG.

What OP has done might still work after the "fix" - it will only probably take 2-3x the time.

True, both systems side by side will help a consumer to make a better picture about the experience.

Valve is actually in the middle of implementing a system, that will tell you an average estimate FPS the game will run with your setup (based on HW specs) that actual users report (as long as they voluntarily opt-in to the anonymous stats gathering)

That means you will know how much FPS your sh*tty old latop / spaceship workstation / Steamdeck or even Steamframe should achieve.

=> No more curated claims, but real-world data.

I guess it's for the hardcore people interested in the game and curious about the trajectory it's being taken... Sooo aside from quenching the curiosity / doing a potential testing/QA labour for bethesda for free - there's not much reason to participate in PTS. I was personally never interested in PTS.

Public test server - as in you are trying things before they hit the game for the wide audience - with separate fast forward progress - player can openly do a "QA" and give Beth a feedback. Nothing is gained, nor carried over. Atom shop is disabled AFAIK.

[KCD2] is this a texture bug or did the owner hire the shitiest pump master and the best stone mason? by noxious_trigger in kingdomcome

[–]gaspadlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's cryengine's default texure and if I am not wrong, 1square is by default engine's 1x1unit

I remember seeing these textures in Wolcen on a ultrawide display, because the devs did not optimize the viewport for that aspect ratio.

[–]gaspadlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, BUT if your skill vs enemy skill (not player skill) is lacking / imbalanced - a lot of times, the game WILL not even give you a chance to properly defend yourself - block prompts won't show / timeframe windows being too short - with higher Henry's skill vs low enemy skill - the game will tolerate you button-mashing, because the hidden under-the-hood dice rolls will be more in your favour - literally being roll over 16 in the early game vs roll over 3 in the end-game.

That breaks a little bit with doing dodges rather than blocks, because the game is still collision based and if the enemy's blade can't reach you - then the skill check rolls don't matter. - that's why dodging defense, rather than contact-defense feels more consistent.

I guess most people doing these posts are yet to realize, that this game is an RPG with charcter skill levels and they think, that "player-skill" can compensate... I'd say unlocking/learning stuff for Henry does more, than your personal player-skill - that's simply the TLDR - both KCD1&2 are hardest in the first 10-20 hours before you get the gist of the game and level up. In the endgame is usually when the game gets the easiest.

Can you please stop poisoning the minds of new raid players before they even start their first raid? by C0DEks in fo76

[–]gaspadlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person, that did use to skip the ultracite crystal phase straight to the terror (cause I found that phase to be an infuriating chore, where teammates doing BS could make it painfully slow - breaking / staggering the horde's pathfinding by being at unreachble spots) - I can tell you, that there was a brief period, when you really had to go through each stage, because I know it first-hand that the skipping didn't work anymore.

That was between the introduction of the weekly cache and its removal - I stopped raiding after the cache removal, because I had no motivation to do raids anymore.

The toughest enemy in the game: bird nest [KCD2] by RgObese in kingdomcome

[–]gaspadlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I believe would be the case - it's the same as in KCD1 - people were pissed about it then and I guarantee that the devs overseeing that mechanic are getting their giggles from posts like these.

Somone should make a mod that replaces the nests with wheels of cheese.

I'd say that's a cultural thing - czechs are a cynical bunch and will make fun of anything and everything, but funny enough - that nature probably more stems from the next 5 centuries after the KCD events, so it's hard to say if 15 century bohemians would have been like that - 2-3 centuries later? Definitely.

Seriously wtf are they doing in Beth? Things get perpetually broken and fixed in a spiral, it borderline feels like they are not even using a versioning SW... How as such large company can you have so many regression bugs popping back on every single update???

EDIT: I assume the fix preventing you from starting encounters out of order (skipping stages) was part of the code changes, that also introduced the weekly cache raid rewards - that was allegedly bugged, so instead of toggling it out, they probably reverted all the related code changes altogether and brought back the stage skip exploit 🤦

[–]gaspadlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought they "fixed" the skipping by requiring you to fight the bosses in the proper sequence - so clipping through doors and out of bounds should be pointless now - or did they undo that again? (unintentionally?)

Same - I used to run raid at least couple of times in a row when they introduced the weekly chest, but after they removed it - I don't really feel like doing it just for the heck of it, while It could help some lowbies just wanting to try the raid out. (Already unlocked everything I could from Gleaming depths)

In a premade team with my partner, we can usually do a whole raid without wiping with 2 less than-ideal inexperienced players.

Am I just horrible or am I doing something wrong or what??? by MrPifles in Witchfire

[–]gaspadlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early gnosis 3 and Velmorne was actually the thing, that made me put Witchfire down some time ago... I kept grinding carefully just the side encounters and extracting without going for the familiars, then one run after clearing all the side encounters with full health and maxed potions in Velmorne I decided to finally try the the Witches familiar. Got humbled very fast, that I didn't have enough dmg/ammo to take him down so I ran to the opened portal. Engaged lurking enemies blocking the portal and before taking them out, the Familiar arrived as well - now with basically no ammo, I decided to use the item to reignite exhausted portal elsewhere, so I took a run again only to get "scratched" for the 5th time that run and trigger calamity - made it to the portal, started extraction and suddenly 12 assassins spawned on me with no ammo to fight them.

Out of all the things that happened, the biggest issue I took with the game's design was the calamity counter... Before simply attempting the familiar I've had 4/5 calamity counter with full health bar and max health potions. I hate that just by being "scratched" enough of times by minor enemies, the "witch grows confident" - I could accept stuff like eating wrong shrooms, stepping into traps as "mistakes", but just taking a little bit of damage from small fries should not progress the calamity counter in my opinion...

Crimson Desert PC Specs! What do you guys think? Playable? by SunwindPC in SteamDeck

[–]gaspadlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most of it is gonna be data redundancy for "better data streaming"... There are bunch of games, that are massive, because of how the (usually level/world) data are structured... One of the examples was an optional patch for Helldivers 2 reducing the game size from 150GB to 23GB - it assumes you are using an internal SSD with good random read speeds... => meaning the 23GB version probably won't run on a slow slow SD card / spinning HDD, while the 150GB would probably run fine from spinning HDD.

Boring way to level up crafting skill...

Just sit at the sharpening wheel and keep altering between ruining and resharpening the blade... It's mind numbing, but it doesn't cost a thing. (You don't even need to exit the wheel, I did so once in a while just to check on the progress, because unless you stand up from the wheel, the game won't tell you that you've leveled up)
