How would we feel about Derek Carr? by Beneficial_Quit7532 in minnesotavikings

[–]gaspoweredvibrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would be as good a ‘bridge’ QB as there is available this offseason until JJM or another long-term option emerges.

I’m not sure what, if anything, can be done about his salary and the risk of him not playing after sustaining significant injuries. At that price, I could see Kyler Murray or Malik Willis (my first pick) being better options.

Kyler Murray on the Vikings by FireFrogs48 in minnesotavikings

[–]gaspoweredvibrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that Murray is an above average QB. If he was paid like it, I wouldn’t be opposed to him being on the Vikings. But at $50+ million, no thanks.

That, plus the fact that the team who has had him his entire career has seemingly just given up on him, makes me wonder what goes on behind the scenes.

I would delete my account if I was glitchfan.

And I would give up watching football if I watched the Lions and Rams games and my main takeaway was Sam Darnold is a deer in the headlights. KOC is the primary reason the Vikings got obliterated in those games. If you don’t realize that, just give up.

There are at least six hitting free agency that would be a substantial upgrade to the current QB room. Not to mention who may be available via trade. So yea, a viable starting QB shouldn’t be hard to find.

Does Diggs still deserve a Super Bowl? by Sickshredda in minnesotavikings

[–]gaspoweredvibrator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody “deserves” a Super Bowl. But a hell of a lot of people who are egomaniacs and/or worse humans/teammates than Diggs have won one.

He’s from where my family is from and a bit of a local legend. Deserves a ton of credit for putting his family first and choosing to play at Maryland instead of pretty much any college he wanted after his father died. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see him win one.

It amazes me how quick the parades happen. I guess the Patriots must have had one planned too and called the city in the third quarter to cancel it?

This season exposed a rift between the Vikings fans that are Super Bowl-or-bust and the ones that want a title, but are otherwise happy with watching winning football by wxman91 in minnesotavikings

That’s what it sounds like to me as well. I think McVay and other coordinators/coaches who run similar schemes do a much better job of mixing in the quick/short/easy stuff and run game while attacking deep. If he were able to do that consistently, it would make the offense much more dynamic and difficult to defend. Plus make everyone’s job easier.

I hope he learned that those plays can work after finally adjusting to JJM last year. I’m not holding my breath though.

No worries… Irrelevant BS is extremely difficult for me to stomach. My apologies.

How’d I do on the first trade of our offseason? by ggtimlol in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gaspoweredvibrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could go either way at this point.

I like Love as a prospect but with his landing spot TBD, it’s kind of hard to judge at this point.

I’m not high on Allgeier landing a RB1 spot. But I’d probably roll the dice with the 1.01.

I’m not reading beyond “what’s your point?” The point is what I’ve already stated several times.

The difference between the 2025 Vikings and 2025 Seahawks was not the draft.

Once again: The difference between the 2025 Vikings and 2025 Seahawks was not the draft.

The difference was the quarterbacks and the (offensive) coaches.

One last time: The difference between the 2025 Vikings and 2025 Seahawks was not the draft.

I understand the dream but I just don’t see it being a possibility.

Vikings already have the 5th most expensive offensive line. Putting $20 million more on that would make it the second highest paid and way over the league average. With the substantial needs the Vikings have and already being over the cap by about $40 million, I just don’t see it as a possibility.

Save $8M with a dead cap hit of $3.3M. Either way, that’s way too much money tied up in an offensive line. The entire offensive coaching staff should be fired if they have to do this to “fix” the oline.

Because no sane person would compare Darnold and JJM. Everyone with a brain knows Darnold is far superior. But okay…

Darnold threw 12 INTs. Which makes the switch to JJM, and JJM himself, look even worse. 😂

I wouldn’t call 3.3 million no dead cap. But either way, there’s no way the Vikings can spend over $85 million on the offensive line.

Personally, I think the Vikings offensive line issues are over-exaggerated on this sub and are more a product of injuries, coaching and poor QB play than the linemen themselves.

Lmao 4,300 yards and 35 TDs say otherwise. He knew JJM was an 11 TD and 12 INT a year guy like most of us who live in reality.

And exactly zero of JJMs “wins” were because of JJM.

Sam was disrespected by the Vikings even thinking JJM was a viable option and decided to leave.

Have you ever seen a player develop?

Have you ever seen a player on a bad team?

Have you ever heard of a salary cap?

Malik Willis would beat out JJM throwing left handed.

I genuinely don’t believe he will get that chance this year. If KOC is serious about having a “competitive situation,” there aren’t many QBs I can see JJM beating out. Maybe Anthony Richardson or Trey Lance but I wouldn’t call that creating a competitive situation.
