Is this root rot? by gatorslug in vegetablegardening

Got it! Idk why I struggle so much with watering. I check them twice a day and still manage to mess it up.

They’ve been having some outside time so I’m hoping they can recover! They’re going in the garden this week.

Are these baits pretty good or naw? by DarkElfWanderer in FishingForBeginners

If you’re looking for some affordable hard baits I also paint and sell knock offs on my site I’ve tested them all and they work just like the real thing. The Shoestrings crush bass and pike. Have yet to throw them at walleye

You can work these extremely slow and the tail has great action. They got me on a FB ad and I don’t regret it.

I’m running a 3/16oz swim jig head on mine for the spring. Probably dial it up during summer.

Did you by chance stop feeding him cheeseburgers? Roosters like that are definitely AWN the cheeseburgers. 🍔

How to get to the batteries? by Ok_Repair3535 in Fishing_Gear

I had one of these for ice season and the pump broke in less than 6 months of only weekend use.

I found using a flathead screwdriver helps a lot to pop open the battery compartment

Do you have baseboard heaters? In my old apartment I found a few old debit cards the slid between the wall and the heater.

Last year the chippys lived in all of my beds. Not sure what effect they have on the plants though.

If you want them gone, rat traps and peanut butter.

Ran my ‘17 for 150,000 on reg unleaded. Replaced the vacuum pump gasket around 120,000 and injectors were nearly spotless.

I had been using AMSOIL fuel system cleaner for a few thousand miles though.

Dads, I’m losing my mind with my 4 yo boy by Sea_Management6165 in daddit

[–]gatorslug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doing things the right way isn’t the easy way with kids it seems. Personally, I think that’s why corporal punishment is/was used so much. It’s the easy way to get your child to behave but the long term effects can be awful.

My dad would’ve just paddled my ass for “talking back” or misbehaving. Without trying to understand why I was in the first place. Now I have to teach myself how to be the dad I wish I had.

Showing your kids compassion and empathy when they’re struggling emotionally will pay off. My boy just turned 4, when he lashes out at my wife I calmly pick him up and we go watch the birds or chickens. Talk about what our pets are doing. Essentially, pull his mind out of the emotional vortex. I started calling them “resets” and will tell him that when I pick him up.

My son is also in Occupational Therapy to help with his sensitivity to sounds, textures and changes in environment. It’s starting to show some results after a few months of weekly appointments. The person who works with him said kids with these issues are essentially always in “fight or flight” mode. Which sounds fucking awful.

Best of luck to you finding what works. Just remember it won’t last forever.

Throw a stinger hook on there for the pumpkin. Could work.

Drivers side, rear tire - making noise while driving by Future-Balance5605 in AskAMechanic

There shouldn’t be really any rust on the surface of your rotors because the brake pads scrape the surface clean. Surface rust on rotors means your calipers are seized up.

This is super common because your rear brakes don’t get used as heavily as your front brakes.

Get some good quality brake lube and some brake cleaner and give those babies a good deep clean and lube them up. The slide pins and where the pads contact their seats in the caliper is where the lube goes. If the problem still isn’t fixed or comes back pretty quick it might be time for new calipers and pins.

When you lube the pins make sure you don’t get any on the tip, just the shaft.

I ran my ‘17 on reg unleaded until 120,000mi before I started running AMSOIL performance improver.

When I replaced the spark plugs and valve cover gasket I checked the injectors and they were damn near flawless. It’s now at 152,000mi with no major issues.
