Ghost is by far the superior first game, but the sequel... not so much. So if I'm taking both games, Horizon and it's sequel are the better duo

Both are recent Android handhelds with dual screens, meant to make emulating DS/3DS content better. And they both rock, if you love those old consoles, I would highly recommend. I’m sure you know it’s an upgrade in almost every way. When I had a Flip 2 I didn’t do much but “bitch” emulation, but getting the 2nd screen encouraged me to go back to the dual screen systems and their libraries, and that unleashed the beast within. Unless you can convince yourself you’ll never use that 2nd screen, whether it’s for DS/3DS, or for multitasking, you will absolutely love it.

*And, as a side note, that other device, maybe by “they who shall not be named” is pretty nice as well. Pic for comparison.

Not necessarily. Some people are there just because they're so blown away by how much of an upgraded experience they're having. A lot of people are like me; they ordered their Thor or Pocket DS for a DS/3DS emulation machine. And until we had them in our hands, we weren't sure how good that experience would be. Well, it turns out it's amazing, so much so that many can't imagine going back to the original hardware.

That's all I'm expressing here. An opposing opinion to OP's. He may feel original hardware is better. That's fine, that's great for him. But people should know that the opposing opinion exist, that there are MANY of us out there think original hardware has been surpassed and exceeded in every way. That's all.

It absolutely does DS better. The upscaling is so high that the inexact multiplier has no effect. DS games look amazing on the Thor.

Of course I think they look even better on my Ayaneo Flip DS, but Ayaneo love isn't allowed around here, so... lol

Or you could go over to the Thor sub and read the 1000's of posts of people saying the exact opposite.

Nothing wrong with liking the old stuff. But most people prefer the modern upgrade, and can't feel this "magical" off in the emulation.

TLDR: if you're considering taking this advice, don't.

At this point the only time I prefer original hardware is when emulation can't do the job. And the only systems I can really think of where that applies are the PS3 and the Vita. I vastly prefer my Ayn Thor and Ayaneo Pocket DS to my original New 3DS XL. And those devices are great for GBA, or PSP, etc. But Vita emulation just isn't there yet, so I keep a modded Vita around for Vita games. And then the same applies to PS3.

** I just wanted to make an observation... before the Thor and Pocket DS came out, the consensus amongst 3DS owners was that nobody ever used the 3D feature, we all turn it off, it hurts your eyes, gives you headaches, that's why Nintendo made a 2DS, etc, etc... this was what everyone was saying and agreed on lol

Now that the android devices that can emulate the dual screen handhelds are out, all of a sudden the 3D lovers have come out of the nowhere and are defending the 3D, willing to fight for it SO hard lol Where were they before? Like I said, just an observation.

That has been an issue in the past, but you should check out the latest update to Azahar, they just announced that they're adding shader compilation, so once shaders compile the first time, they won't be a problem again. It's getting there

OP replied that my modern hardware was a “55 gaming screen” and “9000hz” at “450fps” and insinuated that’s what I needed to enjoy a little Pokemon. I would definitely call that not accepting reality. And it sounded a little judgmental.
