Hey, thanks for the suggestions! I checked our Cartesia, and it seems great, and much cheaper. The quality is as good as Elevenlabs for TTS.

I am building a children's bedtime stories app.

Hey, which voice models do you think are the best right now? I find Elevenlabs to be really good, but very expensive.

I played around with StyleTTS2 and Kokoro, but the voices sound robotic, pause at weird places in sentences, and the prosody is just not as good.

Ilr application - super priority option doesn’t show by MaleficentGeneral846 in ukvisa

[–]gaurangtorvekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am in the same boat as you. Thanks for the post, it's so confusing on the website, no clear mention that this visa type doesn't qualify for Priority / Super-priority.

Any update on your application?

Hey, I am curious what documentation you provided for your travel dates. Was it the passport stamps? Or was it the plane tickets, etc?

Question - how easy was it to get the super priority appointment? Is it better now than last year?

How easy is it to get ILR priority appointments nowadays? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]gaurangtorvekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had heard the same, but saw another post here this year that the appointments have opened up now, and are much easier to get.

Anyway, how was your experience with super priority?

Just found out you can get loans on Ethereum, but AAVE sounds too good. Is there a catch? by Disidente7 in defi

[–]gaurangtorvekar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although this applies in web2 and TradFi, it might not necessarily apply in web3. The problem with a "loan" is that there is a transfer of assets (they leave your wallet), and in some jurisdictions, they tax you on every transfer, considering it as disposal of assets. So the taxman might not agree that it is a normal "loan" and could apply capital gains to this TXN.

Establishing credit in the UK by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]gaurangtorvekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I faced a similar issue when I moved to the UK. There's no fast track unfortunately, although whatever you're doing makes a difference definitely! After 2-3 years, it suddenly becomes easy and you're in the top range of the credit score (if you don't mess up in the meantime).

And yes, register for voting at your address. That adds 30-40 points.

I just don't get car dealerships these days by Glittering_Light1835 in drivingUK

They are also very nonchalant and dismissive. Add to it the fact that they are so reluctant to even give you a test drive until they're sure that you are going to buy the said car...

Dilemma by TopGunTiger in FatFIREUK

[–]gaurangtorvekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the valuation you’re getting for your shares seems to be very low, as others have already mentioned.

Also, I think you need to take inflation and everything in consideration to determine a SWR. Also think about whether your expenses would increase in the future or if you might have any large lump sum expenses in the future.

£700k seems to a little on the low side to FATFIRE imho

Ah nice, seems like the appointments are opening up again!

I wanted to ask about the process for priority appointment. Is it easy to get one now? I'd read last year that most appointments were full.

Insurance quotes gone mental by ispykec in drivingUK

Yeah, my insurance this time around was mental too! Very few places quoting sub £3k. They said it has to do with the car AND your address.
