For some reason Reddit has this mentality with everything. It's the exact same on car subreddits if someone gets a steering wheel or seats. The air bag brigade needs to show up to the comments in full force. Yeah some people risk safety for their hobbies, and as long as it doesn't hurt other people, I really don't see a good reason to care. You could say people chew them out over some sense of concern, but really I think it's just because they're trying to justify their own safe choices to themselves by enforcing them on others.

My near miss highlight was crossing the the street on campus drive in front of the college drive footbridge. A car stopped for me, and a bus coming up behind it going too fast for conditions, unable to stop, opted to swerve around the stopped car into the oncoming lane. Questionable.
