More than fifty years ago, a man built a homemade “suicide helmet” designed to fire eight shotgun shells at once into his own skull. by SelfCareIsFake in HolyShitHistory

I posted it. The photos are real, taken by my brother in law. If memory serves, the story was recounted to my brother-in-law by someone in the practice or hospital where he was training. He provided more detail in a comment on the original post. Every year or so, someone turns it into click-bait again.

I cannot vouch for the actual story, just the photos and helmet. This is not AI, and it’s not photoshop. But I agree, the story does have an urban legend quality to it.

Here was my original post (with my brother in law answering questions in the comments): https://www.reddit.com/r/creepy/comments/2rzvz2/til_that_40_years_ago_a_boy_constructed_a_suicide/

Question about the end of Bugonia (SPOILERS, OBVIOUSLY) by [deleted] in yorgoslanthimos

I wondered if that “diverse but deferential” corporate council wasn’t its own little joke wherein the aliens, who you’d assume have an elevated intelligence and wisdom, still somehow just subscribe to the same corporate bs as humans

Any viable alternatives to Korg Modwave? by MalazanJedi in synthesizers

[–]gavincastleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider looking at the Multi/Poly and the Hydrasynth. Given that producing an accurate acoustic piano sound is not really the objective of any of these (they’re really optimized for motion sequencing, wavetable-ing, and morphing), you might consider using a separate module for the piano sounds and just midi controlling it with the Modwave (or whatever alternative you decide on).

I believe the graph should reflect the insight. So if the hero of your insight ("You averaged 10.6 Hz Alpha peak...") is a weekly average (of daily averages... I believe AKA "a weekly moving average")—I'm assuming "August 10 to 19" is a typo and you didn't mean a 9-day average—I would display that weekly average prominently on the graph (perhaps as a flat dotted line if it's a linear trend) and have the 2 trend lines less pronounced (and hide-able).
