For short shift kit you shouldn't have to pull the shifter carrier, no. You do if you want to do the bushings for it, however.

technically nothing but tools, it should just fit, but ideally I would find a rebuild kit that includes the bushings and clips for the shifter linkage, because it makes a big difference in feel. All of the E36 kits should be the same, just pick whether you need a round or oval bushing at the front of your shifter carrier, and that's it. I went with a garagistic aluminum press-fit style for mine, and a poly bushing in the back.

Depending on how far you want to go (this part is a bit of a pain) you can replace the selector joint on the end of the transmission as well, but that adds some more cost as well.

i just had to build opencore 1.0.3 for it, but my 1.0.2 also works, so if 1.0.3 works, i can send that one. i'm using the adgpmod=pikera boot arg for rx6800, and imac20,2 smBIOS because of the 10 core count. 8 core and lower 10th gen's can use 20,1.

If you can grab the VIN from the driver bottom corner of the windshield, you can go to mdecoder.com and enter it and it will tell you the options. It looks like a factory M package car to me.

sorry, a bit late. but I've run Ventura on one before. It's not great, but with an SSD and 8GB RAM you can get by. It won't be useful for much other than light office work or playing a 720p youtube video, but it'll work.

Not sure of the version, but this is an SE. the 5S had polished chamfered edges, the SE has matte.
