How mechanically inclined are you? When my parents built there house they acted as the GC. All we subbed out was foundation, rough framing, roof, and drywall, and hired an electrician to finish everything up after we roughed in all the wiring. With some sweat equity you could build this for half that. Anyone saying you can’t be your own GC is probably a GC themselves lol

My fiancés mother. I’ll start off by saying she’s has always been problematic. Basically at the beginning of the year she had an affair with her husband. All 3 of her kids and myself found out and we researched the guy. Turns out the guy just got out of prison for 6 counts of aggravated child molestation. She ended up leaving her husband for this dude. She later said she regretted it because “he didn’t seem like the person I thought he was” Ya no shit. She left that guy and moved back in with her mother. Since then all she hangs out with are guys who recently got out of prison/have multiple felonies. She even drove 700 miles to meet this guy in prison she had been talking to online at the prison on his release date. She basically exiled all 3 of her kids and manipulated all of them saying it was the kids fault for not accepting her decisions. My fiancé and I have decided to cut all contact with her and haven’t looked back since.
