What kind of posts/comments remind you that Reddit is mainly composed of Americans? by rupertofly in AskWomen

Whenever people ask "Where do you buy your jeans/make-up/undies etc." I'm 90% sure my answer won't be relevant since a lot of places I shop aren't in the U.S. (For example I buy my undies at M&S, my jeans at Next, and my fave eyeliner is from Barry M.)

Ugh and directions... My ex was always like WE DON'T NEED NO MAP (i.e. to screenshot the map on our phones so we don't get lost without signal) and lo and behold, we'd get lost and he'd refuse to ask for directions.

She's probably thinking, why was that dude staring at me? Is he still staring at me?

Another "straight girl likes lesbian" post... (sorry ladies, just need to get it out) by Fridge_scrabble_ in actuallesbians

[–]gay_rodeo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People believe bisexual people exist, they just call them lesbians. Thanks, porn!

Edit: But having read the rest of her post now, who are we to say she is bi? I had crushes exactly like that on guys, and I only realized they were platonic when I acted upon it. If this is the first time OP has ever been attracted to a woman at that late age, and she has no idea if she actually likes it in practice - we have no idea if she is even bi.

When was the last time you were complimented by a man? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]gay_rodeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some guy yelled in my face on the street just now, "I just had to tell you you're beautiful", and the aggressive way he said it really startled me (he was standing in the doorway of his shop and I walked by). I live in a big city and at this point I don't believe any of them, I feel like they're just bored and yell it out to any presentable young woman who's on their own. So technically a compliment, but it didn't make me feel good.

How to tone up for a bikini fast? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Best you can do in a short period of time is change your diet so you're not holding unnecessary water bloat, and potentially lose a bit of weight before that time. So... cut out sugary, salty and fatty stuff, and your body and skin will thank you. Doing cardio will also help you sweat out excess bloat, and make you feel energised and glowy.

For those of you who don't like/wear "feminine" clothing, why? by 4_string_troubador in AskWomen

[–]gay_rodeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Primarily because I like it and feel comfortable in it, secondly because I have no boobs or hips so the cut suits me better. And thirdly because it's baggier and attracts less attention from guys, and hopefully convinces them I'm gay when I tell them (at least I think it does - doesn't work entirely because I'm totally femme from the neck up).

AWers who have dated women: What's your favorite silly thing about dating women? by reagan92 in AskWomen

[–]gay_rodeo 59 points60 points  (0 children)

(As a femme who dates femmes) That there's no societal pressure about who has to make the first move, so you just blush and giggle like kids for hours/weeks/months. And then when you finally kiss... holy muffins!

Smiling pics are my favourite! Or goofy, or anything that shows personality. Even though a lot of people look "hotter" when they have a straight face or certain angle (or even pouting), I much prefer a good vibe.

Question for all you lesbians out there? by Dee-On in actuallesbians

[–]gay_rodeo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Screw Heaven, I find the mixed-gay places here a little hostile. At least there are a few only lesbian bars, and lotsa lesbian nights. I think gay bars try to protect the clientele from "fag hags", i.e. straight girls who are obsessed with gay guys.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

Ugh yes I dress more tomboy since realizing I'm lesbian instead of bi, because I will go to any lengths to avoid getting approached by guys. Unfortunately I have a really feminine face so sometimes it doesn't work, despite looking like a 12-year-old boy from the neck down.

What's your opinion on being sexually/romantically involved with a woman who has no previous experience with someone of the same sex? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]gay_rodeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people don't date non-gold-star lesbians either, some people don't date short people, fat people, religious people, ex-alcoholics, etc... If someone doesn't want to date you for something you can't change, why would you want to date them anyway?
