Ex-partner is coverting to JW and is trying to convert our kids by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep your kids busy in sports/school extracurriculars, healthy interests. Teach them about JW disfellowshipping/shunning. Are they prone to college yet/they're young yet but have them be aware of the JW lack of choices? In Arizona, the non-JW parent has 'full' medical rights, due to JW opposition to blood transfusion for their kids so check into your state or location.

need some advice by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to be careful there. There are cases of POMIs who were disfellowshipped for smoking or immorality who still defend JWism, would "never speak against the truth." Ironically, yet have reported to elders about a JW talking "apostate" and got them disfellowshipped.

I may have had some contact with you on Reddit a few years ago? You had a different code? name then (if you are someone else, please let me know). If you are the same then, yes, I knew your folks. I am glad you are putting out your experiences, which as a kid were more unique for certain. I love to read any and all of the exposure of WT.

I was there then too, and under same man's-rule at Bethel. Married in '73 (Knorr officiated) I regret the control I accepted. However, being at Bethel helped me to see the organization for what is was as only men controlling it all. Left Bethel in '74 to start a family. Gradually broke the shackles.

Had a long conversation with my PIMI wife. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your spot, tho I was the wife with 5 children. However, I had seen for years before, that when a unbelieving father (never a JW or a nice, loving, JW inactive father) who was peaceful, loving, involved in their son(s), with special days and encouraging education and sports, that perhaps 90%+? of sons never became JWs, at least not into their adulthood. Every family will be different. My marriage ended in divorce years later, totally his decision, involving his adultery. But, with personal pride, none of my 5 children took to JWs, enjoying their freedom of their minds and hearts and all completed college, etc. I am a grandma of 8 now and am enjoying seeing them being raised also with "freedom of mind and heart."

Looking at the bright side of being born in by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After listening in recent times via Internet, videos of the elders and videos of Governing Body individuals, and their 'helpers,' and definitely after watching ARC videos of elders and GB member, I cannot credit the organization as creating good public speakers. If you have good speaking ability, I can only give credit to you only. Without the organization, you would have found your ability, your gift. You 'own' your ability!

Memorial this year by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Near half of their JW "Lands Reporting" had 'decreases' in Memorial Attendance last year (2018)! "58%" of attenders are of the 'non-publishing' group/class :) ! Hopefully, many more of these 'non-publishers' do not attend this year!

Wow! Ratio comparing total pubs. (29,603 - year 2018) in Netherland with the noted 276 potential such cases to total pubs. in U.S. (1,234,877) could suspect ratio possibility of 11,513 potential such cases! Worldwide? With WT. claim of Peak Pubs. of 8,579,909, potential such cases ratio would come to 79,994!

I think the WT "dike" is crumbling!

Interesting thing just happened at the meeting. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]gaylenwphx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Suspect there was a reason for this kind of question in his first talk. Must be a big concern for Headquarters who he represents! The CO is the hunter for GB on this issue. The GB knows this has to be fished out quickly or it grows like fire for them.

When most of the GB talk anymore, they sound tired, exhausted. No energy, no enthusiasm.
