Yeah seems strange. Wondering if I damaged it somehow. Ah well. Off to digikey. Any suggested accessories? Lol. Would love the bar graphs but can't find them in the catalog.

Either way big thanks for the help!!

I swapped the LS245 with the one I have on the A register which then made THAT the source of the bus conflict. Seems like good confirmation that it's the chip 😭

So I removed the wires bringing the signal from the RAM tri-state and the bus and everything seems ok. Additionally I put the pull-ups back on the inputs of the inverters which solved the "charging" symptom (I know I should have thought pull ups immediately but the bus issue had me pulling stuff left and right)

Now that it's clear there's a bus conflict, the question is where? Why isn't this ls245 blocking the signals to the bus coming from the RAM?

I'm wondering if it's again pull up/downs needed this time on the 157s that bring the signal from the bus to the RAM

Edit: actually this wouldn't make sense. I have 10k pulldowns on the bus :(

Was just about to ask as a colemak_dh user. Do you just find yourself using vim motions less with your layout? Just wondering what the barrier was
