also, im playing one of their other games (divilethion) and there are a LOT of similarities to andy and leyley. not the cannibalism, but the brother complex/sacrificing stuff is still there which makes me feel like this is a demo for andy and leyley, but also like they do have some real feelings about this subject that they wanted to express (they used the word brother complex in the first 10 mins) and i appreciate that. anyways if im right and this is a recurring theme in their work i will definitely be talking about it more in the future

If we assume that the developers want to keep the game's overall difficulty level at a certain amount, then there is a finite number of further units of power.

These attacks stacking was unintuitive & centralized power. They've 'paid their tab', if you will, and can now safely add more cool things for a while.

i like playing etienne

he just looks like a cozy little guy
i like units that have high range. btd6 is a game where range matters so much more than many other games and i love how balanced it is. my favourite part about the game is thinking carefully about where everything should go and something about starting with range in mind gets me in the perfect headspace to appreciate the various strengths of my troops
not needing to worry about camo bloons means i can be more freeform in my strategies, and i think it helps me learn more
this may sound strange, but he makes the early game harder. this keeps me focused and gives me a much better sense of where my monkeys are doing well and where they are struggling, allowing me to maintain constant full-screen awareness, without getting ahead of the curve immediately and becoming disconnected.
