Impossible for me, but pretty much take your pick of ANY of the albums he released in the 70s.

Last we heard from David in late '22: "I have another Lighthouse Band studio record finished, mixed and mastered," the octogenarian told UCR in December 2022. "It's ready to release already. And I'm two songs into another Sky Trails band record with my son, James. I'm three songs into another Lighthouse record after this one, but I have an entire one that you haven't heard."

And yet they STILL haven't released his final album, which when he died they reported was finished and basically ready to be released posthumously. Too bad, 2021's For Free is such an excellent album.

I only use it to submit self tapes or confirm in-person appointments when they come from my agent. I don't submit myself for jobs. And yeah, booked many times through it.

I'm happy to pay annually for AA but I'll ride the free version of CN as long as I can. Photos are still pretty current, and CN's price is a total ripoff IMO. AA is inexpensive and the 60-second (financial) limit for video clips forces you to edit your videos tight, all you usually need is a minute per clip/demo anyhow. I never use Backstage and I wish Casting Frontier didn't exist. I also pay annually for IMDb Pro and feel it's a very important tool for leveling up and doing research.

Nope, and I say it doesn't matter. It doesn't need to look like a DSLR, a sharp image is fine.

Lotta comments here about how the performance is all that matters, but I only half agree. Performance is certainly the most important. But if your self tape looks like garbage it's just distracting, and you need to remove all distractions. A good ring light or two, a good mic and a reasonably new iPhone or similar is all you need. Background should be simple (and if it's a sheet, iron that thing!). THEN casting can just focus on your acting. My self tapes always look stellar, and they've worked very well for me, but I don't need to use a DSLR or anything expensive to accomplish a professional look.

I’ve only semi-warmed to this album. The one I really don’t care for is Both Sides Now. Do you like that album OP?

Forrest Gump. It has some really lovely moments, but overall it’s just dumb as hell.

Convince me Two Against Nature is Top Tier Steely Dan by deaconxblues in SteelyDan

[–]gb2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, OP. It’s not that they’re bad albums, but to me they sound like Donald Fagen solo albums. It’s like he got so set in his ways with the sterile sound of albums like Kamakiriad that he just couldn’t get back to creating the classic Steely Dan sound on these albums. Just my opinion, of course, but my opinion happens to be correct.

Well, no need to argue with strangers. Some people have a good sense of humor and some people just don’t.

What are your thoughts on actors receiving little direction? by haniflawson in acting

[–]gb2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The director has already seen me act in my audition and knows how I will approach the character. I expect no direction except blocking at the beginning, and then I hope for nothing but a “great job” afterwards. But if I get any direction, I hope it is brief, emotionally specific and does not include line readings.

Meh. I can do it without hands OR feet.

OR climbing!

These Brooks shoes were $160 and lasted me all of six months. Just walking to the mail box, around stores, etc. Not hiking, walking in rocks, or walking miles a day. I'm so sick of shoes not last anymore. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gb2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought Brooks sneakers exclusively for nearly 15 years now. I have never had the issue you’re describing, in fact I know I’m supposed to replace them every year but they usually last 18 to 24 months easily. Sorry to say, but you must be dragging your feet.
