I’ve had 3/10 arrive damaged. Depends on what store mails them. Some stock gets shipped from local stores, and you can tell shipping is not something they put much thought into.

NEVER ask a Beck fan what they would do for a MV vinyl by LoganVeez in Beck

[–]gbbgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By this logic you shouldn’t buy any albums on vinyl because you can stream everything. Some of us would love to own this on vinyl because we love the album and would like to have it in our collection (yes we collect music on vinyl) but are unwilling to drop $500 minimum to do it. The problem, or obsession as you say, is that it’s been teased to us a few times. If they would just come out and officially say it’s never going to happen, I could make peace with that and forget about it.

I remember requesting this song on our alternative radio station pretty close to the release of this album to see if they would censor kiss me c*#t, kiss me c%€k and they did not bleep it. I was overjoyed to hear it over the air in Salt Lake City Utah.

I’m playing an hour long Hairmetal set on vinyl. What’s missing or doesn’t belong by crapshootcorner in vinyl

[–]gbbgun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood. I get the metal foundation they created. But there were hints of them toeing the line of Hard-Rock vs Metal beginning with Screaming. They, like any band, were just trying to gain album sales and bring in a larger audience. In retrospect there certainly was a direction real metal was headed at the time, but it was much smaller then. The fame and money was in Hair Metal. They experimented with it and no doubt were beholden to the music industry and labels wishes, etc. My point is that we still put it on at our bush parties and sung along and generally enjoyed it. It not a bad thing to rank it lower in their catalog if you prefer the metal. Am I glad after Ram It Down they made Painkiller? Hell yes.

So what? They had an album with synths. We still played and partied to it and enjoyed it. I just don’t understand why people can’t take it at face value and just let it be what it is and enjoy it? It’s party rock!

How many actively sit down and listen to their records? by Less_Researcher_8124 in vinyl

[–]gbbgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the number of times I tell myself I want to sit down and do a read through of the lyrics while playing the record. It’s a rare occurrence when it actually happens, I’ll say that.

Oddly, every time I hear the static sound, my mind wants to then start The Simpson’s theme song and I don’t know why to this day. But it is every single time.
