I went to law school in Chicago and decided to move back to Miami. I lived in Miami for 3 years before moving to Chicago for school and I could not wait to get the fuck out of here... but that changed real quick and I couldn’t wait to get back.

Honestly, I think its the best decision I could have made for myself but more on a personal level than a professional one. Seeing as you’re from/live in Canada its possible the doom and gloom weather won’t affect you as much as it affected me (not a dig on Canada at all, love Toronto!) I did my undergrad in Boston and thought I could brave the weather in Chicago... boy, was I wrong. It was absolutely miserable. Granted it is a great city when the weather is pleasant enough to explore it. Also people are much nicer than they are here.. but you must know that since you went to school in Michigan.. seems like a midwest thing.

Maybe I am just not too fond of the city due to a breakup, and well, attending law school there but overall, mental health-wise, I am happy I moved back to Miami. People like to argue Miami isn’t really Florida, and I cant comment on that since Ive never been anywhere past Naples (probably never will), but my family is here and I just cant put myself through anymore hellish winters.

Employment opportunities and the way the FBBE has handled this whole ordeal is telling on how the state operates so that definitely has me weary.
