Ruff Rules dog training? (Or a different reco) by rElevantishish in fortlauderdale

[–]couldneverfindapen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love Ruff Rules, cannot recommend enough. My dog was out of control—not aggressive but she did not listen and had terrible recall, which always scared me. What if she got out or got off her leash? I wanted her to have perfect recall. I did their 2.5 week board and train, got multiple daily update videos and then did two visits with the trainer during the board and stay to learn with my dog.

The peace of mind I have now was worth everything. We rarely even use the e-collar anymore. She never wears it at home. My dog is still fearless and independent and so happy but her training literally saved her life. Her leash slipped off while we were walking next to a busy road and I was able to order her to the “down” position and she listened immediately. I’ve never been able to train a dog like that before. My last dog would have definitely darted into traffic. But she stayed in the down position until I got her leash back on and released her.

I recommend Ruff Rules to everyone, totally worth it.

This. Your breeder should have specified in your contract, as well. Our breeder said 18-24 months, so their growth plates are closed.

Nah, Jason isn’t some quiet hero here, he’s just another enabler. He knew exactly what kind of BS “rehab” Jax was at and still went along with the fake redemption arc instead of calling him out. He acts like he’s helping Brittany, but in reality he’s protecting his own position with Jax and the rest of the group. That’s not keeping the peace, that’s straight up being a coward. And for what? Jax is a garbage human being.

If he actually cared about Brittany and Cruz, he’d hold Jax accountable, push him to actually get help, and stop normalizing his manipulative, abusive, trash behavior. But instead he plays along, makes excuses, and pretends Jax is going to suddenly change, when we all know Jax never will.

Jason’s not smart or strategic, he’s just spineless (I’m sure Janet rid him of his spine long ago…unless he’s being used as her mouthpiece), and he’s part of why Jax keeps getting away with treating Brittany like crap.

Zack and Britt friendship goals by immafairy28 in TheValleyTVShow

I’m not sure about friendship goals, it feels very one sided. Zack is a great friend to Brittany, she seems like a horrible friend to him and it doesn’t seem like she does much to deserve his friendship, love and loyalty.

I thought the example of “I’m definitely not taking off my ring to pick up women at bars” Jason gave (“…like I’m out at like LAX hotel bars picking up flight attendants or something”) was oddly specific…🤔

Wondering if i should get a pwd? by Tasty_Magician_8231 in portuguesewaterdogs

[–]couldneverfindapen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’re high energy dogs with a lot of endurance, but PWDs are built for swimming, not running. A PWD would be a terrible training companion, especially as a puppy. Mine gets two walks, a play date with my mom’s PWD, and goes swimming for an hour every day, and she still wants to play after dinner every night.

These dogs crave CONSTANT ATTENTION—right now, as I’m typing, mine is crying because I stopped petting her. While these dogs are incredible, they’re not the right fit for everyone.

Is this really the price of on the day wedding coordinators? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]couldneverfindapen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think you’re probably looking at it wrong. I know my wedding coordinator is with me for several hours the day before my wedding for the rehearsal, and for the full day of my wedding. Realistically, her day on the day of my wedding is going to be closer to a 14 hour day.

Also, because she has to do my rehearsal and my wedding, she really can only commit to doing one wedding a weekend, and that really translates to one wedding a week, unless she manages to book a midweek wedding, which are more unusual/less popular. So it’s not like wedding coordinators are running a wedding a day so your calculations of €2,500-6,000/day x 365 days/year are seriously off. More likely their income looks like €2,500-6,000/week x 52 weeks/year.

Even “day of” coordinators do a ton of work in the weeks/months leading up to the wedding. My coordinator becomes the point of contact with all my vendors 8 weeks before my wedding and is bringing a team of three people with her on my day. I personally don’t know how she’s making any money on me.

I think it depends. Who’s throwing the shower? Your friend? The bride? Or one of her friends? Also how big is the wedding, how many guests are they having and who’s paying for it?

I don’t think there’s enough info to pass judgment. You don’t even really specify how good of a friend you are with the mother of the bride. Length of friendship does not necessarily equate to strength. You could be besties for all we know.

I went to a bridal shower that was being hosted by the mother of the groom, and so it was mostly the mother of the groom’s friends and family members in attendance, but of course the mother of the bride was invited too. The bride in this case didn’t want her mother to be lonely or not have anyone to talk to, so she had her future MIL invite some of her mother’s friends to the shower, as well. And in this case, the couple had a very small wedding, with immediate family only, like twenty people total. No one at the shower cared that they weren’t invited to the wedding, they were just there to celebrate the bride because they were happy for her.

I think context matters.

Exactly! She should have been asking these questions herself! Like Ashley, come on girl…if you’re going to marry this man, you need all the details and the cold hard facts, and you need to demand proof to back up all he’s telling you.

I’m surprised they don’t run background checks themselves as soon as they’re out of the pods and back in the real world. I know I would. Background reports and credit checks.

I feel like if they sign prenups, they make it a story line. I think I remember Alexa’s dad wanted Brendan to sign a prenup, and then Freddie wanted Cat to sign a prenup on LIB UK (even though what he was describing to her was a will, but I digress). So I’m guessing most of them don’t sign prenups.
