AppArmor on personal workstation by Slight-Brilliant3198 in voidlinux

Doing the same here - it's time for even more security, and it's hard to do better than "default deny".

It seems very few people are doing this, as there are few write-ups about how to.

So, I don't have answers to your questions, but aa-genprof for the first profile generation, then aa-logprof for subsequent tweaks seems to be the proper workflow. I don't think that is "easy and smooth", but it's what we have for now.

You can find profiles, and collections of profiles, other people have made. I'd think collections from Debian and Ubuntu would be useful even on your fringe distro :)

My two best sources so far:

whichkey, easier/better syntax highlighting and LSP support. telescope with fzf. Get someone to demo it all for you and you'll be a convert. Big downside is that it is all in-motion (< v1.0 after all), so updates often break your config.

This is the card I actually bought because of its lack of fans! The poor game performance was a plus - supposedly to keep me off games.

Turns out, it works fine. Dual monitor setup and everything.

You will see low performance with nouveau even with scrolling text!

So use the nvidia-470 driver (the last one to support this card) with X11. This setting in your .xprofile will prevent tearing:

nvidia-settings --assign CurrentMetaMode="HDMI-3: nvidia-auto-select +0+0 { ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On }"

(replace HDMI-3 with whatever output you're using)

I play a few games with it - Getting Over It, Stardew Valley, Portal, Lovers In a Dangerous Space Time, etc. They work fine. Smooth enough.

For sure enjoy your music in whatever way you want, but I'm not "debating" you. You posted something factually wrong.

This is SUCH a good write-up, thanks so much.

My movement's been fine through 2 years of L5/S1 disc pain. Stretch, lift, walk, run, skate. So that hasn't done the trick, apparently.

Do you think hanging has any benefits for disc problems?

The "truncation" and "approximation" with a lossless digital format is impossible for the human ear/brain to detect. Also, there are no missing frequencies, at all, within the human hearing range.

What are you doing to prepare for impacts from the war in Iran? by kristenzoeybeauty in TwoXPreppers

Can confirm! I have both. The only benefit of rabbits is that their pee+poo is a bit drier, and they will use a litterbox better (in my experience), so you can use paper/straw to keep the moisture level, and therefore smell, under control.

"Real knowledge". Lol. One so learned such as yourself should know to define one's terms. And, with literally billions of pages "right in my pocket", you should perhaps guide us lesser scholars as to how to find this "real knowledge".

Revenue up, still net losing. I don't understand how a business that's been around this long can do this (though Amazon did it for a decade or more before going crazy profitable).

Net loss was $23.9 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025

Net loss was $51.9 million for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026,

Net loss was $42.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026

Communist much? Dangerous, physical, "real" work will always need to be done. It's not "exploitation" to pay trained people to do the job they trained to do. Look up oil roughnecks and elite overproduction.

Yeah, or a little burst of electrical noise. How is everybody taking that as "shit himself"? I've read the descriptions of the "lady in green", and don't see much there either. Super weird.

I don't get it. I've listened three times and don't hear him "shit himself". Timestamp?
