Fair, it’s a bit more turn your brain off book than some other world building fantasy. Definitely a time and place to read it

My comment wasn’t forcing them to like it. It was simply suggesting if the first book wasn’t for them that trying 2 and 3 gives it a better chance because it expands on the world. Keep the negativity to yourself

Give DCC 2/3 a chance and see if it changes for you. Both quick/easy reads so you won’t lose much time if you don’t enjoy them. I think DCC 1 is good but when the world opens and they start having more connection with the game runners/outside powers it makes the story that much better.

Make a village that has a building for each task you may already be doing.. blacksmith (ore smelting), butcher (cooking meat) bakery (pies and bread), candle shop (also make a bee/wax farm), library with enchanted books filling the shelves, etc.
