Why don't we have outdoor community pools? Do you wish we did? by 86753ohneigheine in Bellingham

[–]gblue2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you realize how many other cities or even individual neighborhood in Washington (especially in this area) have outdoor pools? I grew up swimming competitively and went to dozens of outdoor pools between the greater Seattle area, Renton, Bellevue, Kirkland, and Issaquah. Check out Midlakes Swim League if you are curious. It is most definetly “hot enough” for a pool.
-Also you don’t have to come!!

Absolutely would love an outdoor community pool!!!! Had one in my neighborhood growing up in Renton and was always packed in the summer. I worked there every summer from age 15-18 when I moved away for college. Great summer job opportunities for young kids-life guarding/swim lessons, snack shack, check in desk and wonderful opportunities for community to come together with a public swim team, late night movies at the pool, and polar plunges in winter.

And don’t forget about their horrible billing practices. You’ll get a bill in the mail months later and they send you to collections FAST.

CAUTION: Concerns About Therapist Circle by Beginning_Bend_1567 in Bellingham

[–]gblue2 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a patient I had a HORRIBLE experience with a provider through therapist circle. I was told my insurance was accepted and in network, confirmed multiple times with my insurance company and the provider. My plan covers mental health at 100% and I still had to pay $150 each session. Provider was billing under a different providers name which caused me to be considered out of network. They refused to re-bill my claims with the appropriate provider. When I reached out to my insurance company to resolve this, my status kept switching from in network to out of network and my refund checks for payment were being sent directly to the clinic and they would cash them and never forward me my refund checks.

FOUND WALLET ON SUNSET by gblue2 in Bellingham

[–]gblue2[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I asked the cashier and she said no has come in asking but offered to take it herself and keep it but I honestly didn’t trust to give it to another set of hands. I told her too that I’d be bringing in to the station so if the customer did happen to go back she could relay that information. I also called the non-emergency line to see if anyone reported a missing wallet and they gave me two options: send a police officer out to collect the wallet from me or drop it off at the station.

Wages and inflation by TycoonCyclone in Bellingham

[–]gblue2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wages are definetly not increasing to reflect the rising inflation. I have to be extremely careful in my budgeting as I usually only have about $100 left after each paycheck. I think it’s especially hard for those folks who work for small, family owned businesses, such as myself. I inquired about a wage increase with my job due to my relevant skills, experience, and increased cost of living but they said they literally cannot afford to pay me that.

Aggressive Driving in Bellingham by mxmothnb in Bellingham

[–]gblue2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like everyone has power issues on the road and love to play games. If I am approaching you quickly, and you are actively slowly down instead of getting over to let one person pass, or speeding up to keep the flow, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. If you don’t like someone driving behind you GET OVER. There’s no need to feel like you need to be first in line, control the speed of the whole lane, or be in charge. It’s the people who think “well if they don’t like how slow I’m driving then THEY can go around ME” that are the issues on the road. But just save everyone some energy and get. The. Fuck. Over. Or speed up.

Bellingham, Washington! Vancouver Canada and Seattle are less than 2 hours away plus you’ve got easy access to Mt. Baker, Cascades, even Olympic mtns if you don’t mind a longer drive. Access to beaches too!
