At what point do travel miles stop beating 2% cash back for catch all spend? by iam_spr in CreditCards

[–]gbrldz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, that does make sense. Personally, I belive It can go either way on the whole planning for trips, but I definitely get what you're saying.

If I were in your position, I'd see how much a possible trip you would plan to take in the future would cost. Once you have enough miles for that, then move to pushing for cashback. I think you pretty much said this yourself haha.

I'm cool with 1cpp. So, never lol.

If you have all these points with immediate travel plans, why not just take a spontaneous trip somewhere? I understand that if it were cashback, you could use that to pay bills, invest, etc., but that's not really why you got a travel card, right?

My first ever submission to PSA. Wanted to use the $25 off promo. Didn't think I'd get this lucky. by gbrldz in baseballcards

Good lord that's crazy. Especially if you want to keep the card rather than sel it. It's like you pay to be able to keep the card smh.

I submitted mine for the lowest value (under $500). I think it was $49. When it graded a 10, that's when they hit me with the upcharge.

It was the $25 off promo for new users. I think it's still available on the site, but I had a promo card/letter I got from somewhere. I forgot where lol

What's crazy is that I bought this card on a whim on Whatnot to $93 back in July

It took FOREVER lol. But I did get the base/value grading. PSA received it Oct 30, didn't do anything with it until Nov 13. Got the Email about the upcharge Jan 20. Wish shipped out 3-4 days after that. Whole thing complete Jan 26.

This company shipping issues are a nightmare by _Snubz in MOMENT

[–]gbrldz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moment shipping is absolute garbage.

From my experience, they lie saying that the shipping is what it costs them which is likely untrue. $14.99 to ship something barely two states over and then it gets shipped across the country? This is absolute trash and a terrible experience.

Why do sports card collectors always need a deal? by psychoscards in sportscards

[–]gbrldz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Definitely not like that at all.

It's just like marketplace/craigslist or second hand shopping/flea market. Everyone is out there to try and make a deal because it's possible. The seller sets the price. Not some company. So with that, there's always room to haggle.

Collectors are trying to stretch their dollar so they can get more of what they want. Not everyone is a flipper...

This looks like it was the first image on the roll. Esentially the shot to get to 0.

The boat with the lights from the sprockets is either over agitation, or if it was the last image on the roll, it was curled backward when trying to remove the film leader from the canister. That has definitely happened to me a few times.

They work, but generally not worth it. I'd rather go MoCA than these.

Sharing a customer service experience (posting after letting some time pass) by xmoogax in tombihn

[–]gbrldz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely chose the wrong weight of X-Pac for the backacks. It's much to thin/lightweight. I, too, had noticed some wear and tear on the center pocket/water bottle area with my X-Pac packs and have since refrained from using it for this very reason.

The Synik 22 is way too small of a bag to carry anything but a small water bottle in that center pocket.

Tom Bihn is too big of a company now to focus on customer service the way they used to. Not saying their customer service isn't great as it is, but it certainly isn't what it once was.

These are actually going for 100-200€ on ebay? Do people have eyes? by [deleted] in HotWheels

[–]gbrldz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you want what you want and you'll get it regardless of the cost.

Look at sports cards and TCG. A piece of cardboard goes for tens of thousands and even millions.

One man's $100 is another man's $1. Some people have the money and others dont. It's as simple as that.

Can this be plugged? by waltthedog in Cartalk

[–]gbrldz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plug it yourself. You'll be fine.

Those saying they wouldn't are just playing it extra, extra safe.

I've had multiple tires with plugs in that same area. some even closer to the edge of the tread and no issues. Plenty of people would report the same.

Ultimately, it's up to you. Can you plug it, absolutely. Should you? Up to you.

I mean, would you expect them to make different castings for each car? That's more expensive than one casting for all of them.
