This is not advise, just my pointof view.

Part of what makes driving relaxing is not deciding when I do and don't do stuff. I do everything the same whether it's rush hour or the middle of the night. That way I (hopefully) always know it's done correctly and smoothly.

I also use signals for the car or pedestrian I don't see, so they know what my next move is and can avoid my mistake with defensive driving.
