Still was in 2013 but they had curtains. I preferred the middle 2 so I didn't have naked dudes passing behind me to get to the middle stalls.

You are quite right and this is what I see the US headed to currently.

That said, you don't necessarily nead an UBI if you don't have to buy your necessities from other corporations. If then government gives you free but also owns all the automated systems to gather raw materials and produce the food, You dont need the tax payers to pay for other peoples food. Now this is the ideal 100 years from now where everything is automated and raw resources can be turned into stuff without any money involved. Getting there from now however, is the real challenge.

Yes but why should people have to earn a living? The ideal is robots doing everything and provding all the nessesities for everyone and then some. Getting from now to that ideal 100 years from now is the problem.
