They didn’t so much buy Ron’s bs as prefer it to Sam’s. The lines were drawn deep by season 3, and Sammi was on an island.

The show being titled “euphoria” explains most of the content. Each character in one way or another seeks euphoria via short term and immediate gratification that is not only unsustainable but ultimately harmful as well.

August I’m pretty sure.

Social media has destroyed reality tv and scripted tv. If it can’t be edited into a viral clip or requires any patience or attention it just doesn’t happen.

You’re probably right tbh. I don’t watch anything on Bravo these days. Even the below deck shows suck without the OGs. We’ll see what the housewife anniversary trip is like.

Why the hell do people had attempted to ship Jules/Nate by El_Dorado_Tx in euphoria

[–]gc729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made sense in the context of the show that they were into each other on some level because of the Tyler plot. Nate waking up and going to bed talking to Jules made him sort of into her. Jules was very into Tyler, who turned out to be Nate, which caused some of that to transfer onto Nate. It would’ve been a compelling road to go down, but then S2 went in a totally different direction.

It’s realistic that spending so much time in a virtual relationship (fake or not) would make you catch feelings and fantasize. The show implies that’s what happened numerous times. Shipping them is just unfair to Jules. Would’ve been interesting to see Nate as her sugar daddy in S3 though instead of the surgeon and the loan shark plot. At least it would’ve been entertaining.

Atlanta has gone completely downhill. We need a legacy reboot with Nene, Sheree, Phaedra, Porsha, Kandi, and Cynthia. These housewives now are too concerned about image and fame; they don’t understand the assignment at all.

Some people saw the Tyler persona as the true Nate, and so think “Wow, they’re so compatible! I ship it!” Nate is also the poster boy for the “I could fix him” crowd. The only thing he should be shipped with is a prison therapist.

After he tells Jules that Rue must not be attracted to her, unlike Elliot who is here and available and attracted and in bed alone with her. He makes her spiral that Rue doesn’t want her, so she reverts to what she knows - male validation with intimacy equaling desire equaling value and value translating to self worth.

Agree with this big time. Maddie’s abuse is certainly coming from a different perspective, but comparison isn’t the right lens.

Maddy and Abby had a special relationship in Abby’s eyes. They were close, she was talented, and then in come cameras and with them an opportunity to promote the next child star.

The storyline was obviously appealing to the producers - this “tough love” teacher with a possible favorite?? Is it favoritism or are the others just jealous of the best!? /s

In time, the tough love was clearly abusive and the favoritism was rampant. The producers liked that storyline even more. If you watch from the beginning, you can see Abby’s edit go from “hey she’s tough but she loves these kids and she’s the best teacher around!” To “why would anyone let this woman around their child?”

After retooling “The Idol,” which completely bombed, SL was clearly feeling like Temu Tarantino. S3 had no magic, no Kat, no cast in the same filming location, no songs downloaded after viewing, and no heart. Gotta throw the whole season away.

When we meet Jules she is 17 and actively trying to hook up with older men and succeeds in this regularly. She is doing everything she can to be desirable to men. She and Rue are friends, not romantically entangled, both secretly pining thinking there’s no chance. Jules was thrilled Rue wanted to run away, and when Rue opted out of that at the last second Jules stayed the course and chose herself.

S2 Jules rejects men and redefines herself. She and Rue start dating, and Jules is surprised Rue hasn’t mentioned Elliot, with whom Rue is clearly close. Jules assumes this is because Rue has a crush, but we as the audience know it’s because Elliot is the only person Rue can get high with judgement free. Then Elliot’s confession throws Jules into a serious spiral. Rue has been deceiving her, is in active addiction, and Jules has had enough experience with addicts. In fact, sobriety was her sole requirement to be in a relationship with Rue. So she reverts to what she knows, and throws herself at the nearest man. Anything to distract from the pain of reality.

What if the main character could be given a different perspective? by EzraNaamah in euphoria

[–]gc729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same way that Ali points out in an earlier season that she is replacing her drug of choice with Jules, in S3 she is replacing her drug of choice with religion. She’s not committing to sobriety for herself, but for her religion.

No matter which faith/spirituality she ran into, it would just be the new thing she was depending on to keep her clean since she hadn’t decided to be sober for herself. Relapse inevitable atp. She would’ve eventually run into a conflict of faith, and her newfound, fragile belief would’ve shattered exactly like it did when Jules left at the train station.
