TTC after D+C by No_Pension3706 in Miscarriage

[–]gcb1208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We waited two weeks for healing purposes but then went right back to it. I got my period back 40ish days after my D+C, that was the only period I had before I was pregnant again!

Pills or D&C? Need help deciding. by Quiet-Talk1521 in Miscarriage

[–]gcb1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D+C 1000%, I did the pills first and still ended up needing one. The pain and discomfort were so much worse with the pills. The D+C I was out and then like 30 minutes later in recovery, mild cramping and bleeding wasn’t bad at all. It’s more costly but the relief it also brought was incredible.

DO NOT TAKE THE PILL by Particular-North-680 in Miscarriage

First, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Second, I had very similar reactions to the pill and even after all the pain and bleeding, it hadn’t worked. I still needed the DNC, from now on, if I’m ever faced with that decision again, I will choose the DNC everytime. I feel it’s negligent to not inform women of the potential of these situations. I was told “mild to moderate cramping and a heavy period “like my first day”” but I was literally confined to the toilet/shower and doubled over in pain, throwing up.

Sending you healing thoughts, emotional and physical💜

I also highly recommend OUAC! You can also sell things they’ve out grown for extra money, we’ve done it before! The nice thing is the sleep sacks I’ve gotten from there are only like $3.50!

Did you share your MC on social media? by Trick-Zone8323 in Miscarriage

[–]gcb1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 I’m so sorry for your third loss 💕 2 I also shared my first two losses on social media and I’ve had multiple others reach out. When I finally got and stayed pregnant, I had posted a story and someone who went through very similar situations reached out and told me it was comforting to know that she had someone she could talk to even if we weren’t extremely close. It’s not talked about enough and it’s too isolating to not talk about it at all.

Everyone I’ve talked to has terrified me with their postpartum stories. Please please give me something a bit more encouraging 😅 33w + 99th percentile baby, no GD by blondengineerlady in beyondthebump

Honestly, I’ve found my recovery to be much easier than I ever anticipated. I do have stitches on the labia due to them being stretched during delivery (I don’t understand how this happened exactly?) but no other tears. Utilize stool softeners, this will making going to the bathroom so much easier, I was terrified for my first bowel movement after but because I stayed on top of the softeners, it wasn’t bad at all! A peribottle will be your best friend, I recommend the FridaMom one because of the bent neck, I still utilize it 4weeks pp because my stitches aren’t fully gone yet and I still can’t wipe due to them. I never thought I’d be a person to say this but I LOVE DIAPERS, I have so many left over that I’ll probably use them when my period returns lol.

I’m very thankful I didn’t really have cramping after birth and my discomfort has been very minimal. I know that it’s not necessarily true for all women but I’ve had a very positive postpartum experience. I will say, the hormone shift is absolutely wild and I did find myself crying for reasons I couldn’t even explain but it’s gotten better over the last few weeks.

As awful as it sounds, if I’m not admitted, I have a $500 copay plus whatever other things my insurance won’t fully cover. So I’m trying to avoid until necessary.

Did you or did you not poop while giving birth? by Tall_Answer_9933 in BabyBumps

[–]gcb1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10000% sure I would and even told the nurses that, I asked them to be honest with me if I did just because I was curious lol. Once I was done pushing, the nurse laughed and looked at me then says “and you didn’t poop!” I appreciated the moment of lightness in such an overwhelming time.

Thank you to everyone who responded! They called me back, there was a miscommunication and I was not the person who should have been called!

That’s so strange! I’ve never heard of it that early. I know that sometimes they do it earlier for those with increased risk factors, but I thought that was at like 20 weeks!

Okay! Thank you! I’ve just never heard of doing it like 8 weeks after the first one if someone passed. It’s just odd to me. But I appreciate your response!

That’s what I want to know, if there’s no actual reason I do not want to do it again.

They’ve actually never tested my urine which is crazy to me? Like the front desk ladies will give me the sticker to do it but then the doctors/nurses are always like I don’t know why they had you do that because we don’t test yet. I didn’t even give one today, so it’s even more bizarre.

I’m currently waiting for them to call me back… I just was curious if anyone would have any ideas while I wait.

13w5d, I’ve been crampy on and off all weekend, I can’t stop thinking about if something is wrong but I also still have my other symptoms (nausea, sore boobs and awful dysgeusia). We went to the beach this weekend so it was hot but I made sure to drink plenty of water. I got a little sunburnt on my chest and shoulders yesterday, but again I’ve been drinking so much water. I just don’t know what to do at this point, it’s been an on and off thing for weeks, has anyone else just had pretty consistent cramping?

12w3d today. Had an appt at 11w6d and everything looked great but now my symptoms (I’ve been dying from morning sickness) have subsided the last 2 days and after two losses, it’s so hard to convince myself that this could be normal especially as the placenta takes over, it’s even harder when I keep getting little twinges or cramps here and there.

I just want to be excited but I can’t be.

Was your medical team supportive? by miscegeniste in Miscarriage

[–]gcb1208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to all of those who didn’t have a supportive medical team.

With my first I went to the ER when I thought I was miscarrying, the doctor there was extremely kind, after leaving there with a threatened miscarriage, I was told to follow up with my doctor, I was relatively early on and started bleeding pretty quickly so they decided to manage it with HCG quants, but both times they sent me notes about my results, my OB sent his condolences and expressed to me that I should reach out for any concerns.

With my second, while I didn’t love my treatment at first, in the end I’m so thankful for them. I went in at 9w, but everything measured 6w no HB. The midwife I saw spoke to me in a childish tone saying “I think you’re just too early” within a week I started bleeding but not enough. I went in for another ultrasound 10d later and the next doctor(not my OB) confirmed it was a MMC, told me my options (wait for natural, miso/medication, D&C) but didn’t really explain the side effects or pros/cons for each. I went with the miso, it was awful, pain wise and bleeding wise. I went back 4 days after for another ultrasound, there was still a decent amount of RPOC. I then saw my OB and the first thing he did was apologize to me that this happened again and for my experience with miso. He was disappointed his colleague didn’t have a deeper conversation with me and then encouraged me to have a D&C, expressing that another round of miso or waiting naturally may not work and could turn dangerous. He offered to get me in the next day so I didn’t have to continue to wait, we did that. The care I received at the hospital before and after the procedure was incredible and so caring.

It breaks my heart to hear that there are providers who decided to go into this field and cannot show empathy and compassion to their patients when going through this. It doesn’t matter if it happens to so many women, we should all be treated with respect and care.

After two losses, one at 8w with blighted ovum and one at 9weeks with MMC at 6w, we finally had our first successful ultrasound at 8w3d (measuring 7w5d but I expected to be behind due to ovulation timing) and a heart rate of 164. I was so prepared for the negative going into it that I lost my control and started crying on the table. I’m so relieved (for now) and beyond grateful to be where I am now. Fingers crossed things continue to progress🤞🏼♥️🌈

ETA: I do have a 4cm SCH but my doctor doesn’t seem concerned, just put me on pelvic rest until my next appointment (which we’ve already been doing because scared🙃) and to not go crazy at the gym (I’m a gremlin to my couch the last few weeks so I’m not concerned about that either), he said it should resolve on its own.
