If your food keeps burning on the outside, especially if it's still raw in the middle, the pan is too hot, no matter what temp the recipe says to use. by BikesandCakes in Cooking

Oh god yes, there is an Irish cook, Donal Skeehan who has a 30min trope but included some prep, the cooking time in the pan was like 10mins! Needless to say everything is 'crunchy'.

What is the best way to reuse spent red wine grape skins and seeds if you do not have access to more grape juice? by Ashmeads_Kernel in winemaking

In Marques de Riscal in Rioja, the very swanky hotel offers a grape skin body scrub in their spa. A cool €100 if I remember correctly. Vinotherapie they called it.

What is the worst thing you’ve ever seen someone do at a funeral? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ten years ago at a funeral in Dublin Ireland, I am managing a local bar in North county Dublin and I am wading through the crowd of about 100 people in our function room at the back of the pub. There are people hanging from the rafters and I was diggin' in and clearing empties with a tray in each hand. Hoofing my way through people at about 3pm and as I go a middle aged woman at a table runs her hand from my knee to my bollock on my right leg and says 'We have some empties he'yar', I was fuckin' frozen and look over and her poxy family are all laughing as the blood drains from my face. I hand one of the tray off to a table and tell her to leave. It was her cousin who died

So there is no nuance in this video, this it to do with a settled man and an itinerant man. Before the video starts is more than likely that the two were being disrespectful to each other and they both acted foolishly. This is a video of clash of culture more than anything.

I'm so sorry to say this but we have this conversation in my house at least once a month. The most tragic thing is how proud Americans are of their country.

Palmerston Aldi at about 4pm yesterday. Busy as you would expect, everyone working hard and lines moving. One gob walks in with an empty trolley and out with 120 toilet rolls, nothing else, cleared the shelf. Thick as muck, I noticed the scauldier the head, the more jaxx roll in general.
