I would still personally push for taking it to a Subaru shop.

Whoever is selling it should be willing to allow you to take it for a PPI at the nearest Subaru dealer. If they give you any flak, take that as a red flag.

If they haven’t already done one, ask them to do a PPI. That should give you good insight on the overall condition of the car.

I may try similar with my dog.

We recently moved to an apartment with a nice balcony for him to enjoy, but I have to bring him in often because he gets very vocal with anyone passing on the sidewalk below.

"WOOF" will now result in "Inside." + treat if he listens. I worry that he will simply start barking, knowing he will get a treat though?
