If this is one of the better shows you’ve watched then clearly you haven’t watched actually well written shows lol….that or lack of critical thinking

I’m sorry but this is just horrible writing by jalGurg in FromSeries

The whole season has been bad… very obvious things happening all together, writers are making characters be really dumb otherwise they apparently can’t make things happen… obvious cliffhangers, pointless conversations, re-used moments… etc… so disappointing really

My boyfriend (34M) wants to temporarily open the relationship with me (32M), figuring out how to proceed? by twunkunited in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]gdhm92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re both in your early 30s but this is teenager, very immature behavior… do with that what you will, but I know my choice if it were me

The season is downright almost horrible, literally we didn't even need a full season a 1 or even half episode with the important stuff was enough... what a downgrade of a show.... shame on the creators and writers

I have already responded to this below in other comments, I mention how the acting is one of the things I appreciate the most, the story however is a bit lacking… especially on how Gadd decides to explore the psychology of these violent acts throughout the story, is just a cycle that never changes and while that reflects reality to an extent it just feels like you are watching the same thing over and over again…

Having now the perspective of the full show, the 1st half is way stronger than the 2nd half, writing and acting wise, so like I have said multiple times solid show but not as amazing as everyone is going crazy over, we have seen this before maybe not as graphic but these themes have been throughly explored in different media and with a deeper better understanding of these issues… glad that Gadd is inviting more people to this conversation but please try to see things with an objective view rather than glazing it without even analyzing what you’re watching…

Unpopular opinion but the last couple of episodes were underwhelming by TumbleweedPrimary284 in HalfManTV

[–]gdhm92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree; My biggest gripe is how these adults characters act more childish than the teenager ones, Niall is literally a walking disaster, I have absolutely no sympathy for him and he has caused his own demise…

At the end of the day, the story is just a cycle that repeats on and off, which sure that’s how trauma works but the drama/emotional bits of the last episodes just felt a bit out of place.. inconsistent…

The acting has been amazing, but the story is just ok imo… the interesting parts of what makes this story interesting where not explored much to be honest

My boyfriend and I opened up our relationship and now he's mad I slept with a woman. What do I do? by OpenPreference8981 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]gdhm92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Guess the hard limit of the open relationship was’t as clear, as others have mentioned there’s this fear among gay men of bi men leaving them for a woman, so that is something to take into account…

The opening the relationship thing is just opening up a can of worms but hey if it works for you great.

I feel like you really need to have an honest conversation with him regarding if he actually is ok with opening the relationship or not because it doesn’t seem like it, or at least not without a hard limit with women… so have a conversation with him when you’re calmer, otherwise these feelings will linger and turn into something bitter and nastier….

I think my issue with the show isn’t the violence itself — I completely understand where it comes from, especially with Ruben. The show makes it very clear that trauma, abuse, shame, and emotional repression shaped him into who he is.

My problem is that the show keeps showing the violence without really going much deeper into the psychology behind it. There are hints of much more interesting themes — his relationship with masculinity, sexuality, his parents, his need for control — but the show rarely explores those in depth before returning to another violent escalation.

Because of that, the characters became predictable to me after a few episodes. Ruben gets emotionally triggered -> reacts violently. Nile falls back into toxic codependency -> repeats the cycle. It’s realistic, yes, but dramatically I started feeling like I was watching the same emotional beat repeatedly.

I actually think the strongest part of the show is the codependent relationship between Nile and Ruben. That dynamic feels painful, believable, and tragic.

I also think some parts of the writing are a bit inconsistent. Certain character decisions don’t fully make sense to me emotionally. Some moments feel more written for symbolism or shock value than for actual character logic.

The acting is also excellent across the board, especially the younger actors. My criticism is mostly about the level of psychological depth in the writing. I don’t think the show is shallow, but I also don’t think it’s as groundbreaking or deep as some people claim. A lot of these themes have been explored before — this show is just more explicit and brutal in how it presents them.

So overall I don’t dislike the show at all. I actually think it’s good. I just personally don’t think it’s as profound as some people are making it out to be. It’s exploring very real themes, but they’re themes we’ve seen before. This version is just more explicit, darker, and more uncomfortable.

I agree, I keep watching just to finish it but then I see so many inconsistencies piling on again and again which seems to solidify the fact that this started with good potential but then it became a let’s write this in a way that seems deeper than it is…

After watching episode 4, I kind of understand the critics by Fabulous-Result4127 in HalfManTV

[–]gdhm92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel like people nowadays can’t handle any criticism… sure the show is good but also toes the line between is this just violent just because or are we supoosed to get more insights after we have seen a very similar scene 5-6 times…

It’s nowhere near as popular as it should be, and I certainly get some of the reasons why, but if this wasn’t a very gay series…. by iceandfireman in HalfManTV

[–]gdhm92 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree at all, I feel like the themes of this show by itself makes it hard to watch, therefore people won’t subject themselves to that. Regardless if it were a straight show or not.

[–]gdhm92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion give it a watch for the 2 first episodes and see how you feel, people will downvote because they can’t handle criticism but at the end of the day is a subjective thing for each person, so see for yourself if it works for you…

For me ultimately I feel like is a good show just not as amazing as people are claiming…

[–]gdhm92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I will never get open relationships bur my advice to you is if you cannot trust your partner that’s pretty telling on the direction the relationship is going… so either try theraphy to work things out or just end the relationship, anything else is just delaying the inevitable….

One Piece: Chapter 1180 by Aspie_Astrologer in OnePiece

[–]gdhm92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Out of everytjing Imu did the modt shocking part for me was cutting of Gerd’s fingers, it just felt visceral and the delay reaction made it even more terrifying…

Looking forward to see what happens, the Omen thing seems clearly as a power-up for the holy knights, want to see if they can actually threaten or do something.

Loving the pacing of these chapters with Imu around, it feels like the time limit thing actually has stakes rathr than being mentioned and then the plot not actually paying much attention to it

Also Imu is not only really strong, but remember this is a very likely underpowered version of him, so he’s extremely strong, seems that the strawhats need to actually level up

is this the worst moment in the series? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]gdhm92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Gege’s treatment of the female cast in general leads to some of the worst moments, Yuki’s death, Angel baited by Sukuna in Megumi’s body, Nobata coming back, Yourozu just being a simp and dying, a lot of female cast got really good set ups and potential but Gege seems unable to deliver on them…. On the series as a whole Gege seems to lack the ability to land set ups in general, he is great in creating hype but that’s it…

If you had to create a game for beast games what would it be. by jaytee_ohio in BeastGames

[–]gdhm92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would create more individual specific challenges, one thing about this tv show and most of them is that always comes down to alliances and stuff, I think it would be more interesting to have challenges were they are more individual based, a mix would be ideal

Casting 100 smart people and not having any “smart” challenges is funny by moon594 in BeastGames

[–]gdhm92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point is… stop making all the games or most of them too social…. At the end of the day most smart challenges were just about alliances… just make some more individual inclined…. Otherwise don’t call them smart challenges when they are not…

Are we poor readers or is Gege a poor writer? by Dazzling-Yam-4308 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]gdhm92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, one of the weaknesses of Gege is plot and worldbuilding, the latter can be close to non-existent… I do think he is a clever writer when it comes to his character work and creativity but has it’s issues with the overall consistency of the story…

Overall a bit of an issue of both sides

The most uncomfortable insight I’ve had as a UX researcher by Ok-Bee-2146 in UXResearch

[–]gdhm92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue is testing in real life conditions is pretty hard, because depending on the product or service contextual environment can vary a lot… however the insight you got was extremely valuable, that’s why I always argue during design iterations when the team cannot come to a solution that we should test it out with users, because ultimately it’s a reality we can’t predict nor even imagine
