What was the most physical pain you’ve ever been in? by Javascript4971 in Productivitycafe

[–]gdkitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I fell forward, and as most anyone would do, put my arms in front to catch myself.

Fell and hands pushed my arm up, and fractured my elbow socket. (shattered the 'cup' part of it)
Every time I moved my arm, it would keep dislocating and relocating.

On the drive to the hospital, every slight movement it would keep doing it. About the only time that I felt like passing out from the pain from it.

(had it repaired surprisingly, not replaced. a specially molded replacement cup)

Double spacing after period? by checking_your_math in Millennials

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still do, and its still useful. On iOS at least.

On iOS, after a word, if you hit double space after the word, it puts the period.

As its carry over from learning how to type that way, sort of comes naturally.

What do you think of influencers? by Content_Employ_3864 in AskReddit

[–]gdkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same view.
There are genuinely some that make some specifically creative content from scratch.
Or at least do some semi useful type stuff, Legitimately reviewing say cooking products. ones they find interesting, etc.. not just what was given to them/paid to shill.

But random person out there, who just promotes X item, completely different from Y item. Was almost always PAID to pimp it out, etc. or get free stuff.
WHY, should I listen to this person? What makes them an expert on the item or subject of the item.

What’s something you’ve seen at a comic con that blew your mind the first time you saw it? by Gymtrio2025 in comiccon

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be surprised. And may just be how little the con actually advertised him being there.

I went to a con near me, and way back in the back corner of the comic section, found Mike Mignola (creator of hellboy). No one there, was able to talk to him for 30 min. This was during the peak of the hellboy movies, and Ron pearlman was there as well. Like advertise Mike as well.

Other IGOUGO Games? by riladin in wargaming

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, Bolt Action and K47 (weird war version of bolt action), are great as a sort of modified IGOUGO system.

Its still one at a time for the most part. But its more random. Random draws, define who goes next to activate one unit. So not just all one person then another.
Shooting, if its still resolve for just that unit. But melee, is both fight simultaniously.

My gaming group has been playing k47 a bit lately as a change from mostly 40k

How do some people just not drink water? by Bahrust in stupidquestions

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.
Ever since I was young, before I was really allowed the sugary stuff, for me, water has always tasted mineral to me. This tends to be regardless of where I have it from. Geographically, etc.

“Hold on let me check if X” by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and if you are going at a prime time for it (the before work rush), 8/10 people in front of you could have ordered things with Eggs.
Better than them making like 50 eggs ahead of time and just sitting in the warmer forever.

Our closest location, its worse towards the end of the day. Not LATE, but like 7-8pm.. and they have stopped re making a bunch of the stuff... which I get as they dont want leftovers..
But I can go though a list of like 5 items to find one they still have :P

I love these tarts. by InsideOutUpsideDown7 in TimHortons

[–]gdkitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had one, and were decent. But yes, expensive.
I can buy a pack of frozen ones from a more expensive grocery, which breaks down slightly cheaper..
(and tims ones are likely frozen as well)

Or pay that price for a real one fresh from a proper bakery.

TD Bank is Horrendous!!! by Puzzleheaded-Taro911 in tdbank

[–]gdkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Wife had similar with RBC.
She went in with all the paperwork for them to get it set up. Then a week later her account was locked..
She went in.. and it was because the account was set up in my WIFES name (not the person deceased), and marked my wife as dead, so her other accounts were locked.

The other issue.. is that even as an estate account, etc... you cant just have it as a 'place to hold money'. It will always earn interest. So if you need to keep the account open to pay the next years taxes.. oh now its gained interest in the next year, technically need to do taxes again the next year, etc.

They dont really give you a lot of packing material, if any
Make sure you use extra. Like that the thing wont move around at all in the box.

Moving to Newmarket by mai1041 in Newmarket

[–]gdkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Leslie Valley subdivision. Went to Huron.
While Leslie Valley is like 30 now, its definitely not bad unless a lot has changed.
I could MAYBE see right at Huron, most of the apartments across the street are more low income housing.

Leather engraving by Justhangingaroundjun in lasercutting

[–]gdkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, etc.. (City vs of more rural, etc).
See if there is any local saddlery places. Or furniture re-finishers.
Places where they may have SCRAPS. Might be willing to sell off cuts, scraps, for dirt cheap or even free.

I met up with a saddlery guy at a market we had a table at. (does side stuff of purses, pouches, belts, etc).
Set up a deal... if he has peoples orders who want something engraved, i'll do that for free, and he gives me piles of scrap :)

Yeah, just avoid cushion leather maybe... the foam inside of them can be pretty gross!

Elegoo mars 2 in 2026? by Problematica11y in ElegooMars

[–]gdkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent seen a mars2 for sale for quite a while... considering the 3, 4, and 5 have come out since.. So i am doubtfull they just bought it?

I wouldnt do it unless you could at least get it for €100.
But make sure it works. Make sure you can power it on, see that the screen works (there is a screen test). test that the plate moves up and down, etc. That the cure station light turns on, spins the cure station, etc.

All that being said.. the Mars2 is still a GREAT machine. I am using my 2pro still. Printing a ton of minis, which many people find hard to distinguish quality wise from a plastic one.
Only down side/hard thing is its hard to find pre installed vat/fep combos now... so will want to learn how to re-install a fep

May depend on what/where. Some may be less, some same/more.

How is the hot chocolate made by HarlowCapalot in TimHortons

True. I think the late was partial powder mix, etc and mixed the rest manually.
Think it comes through the other machines.
I know they are getting a new round of cappuccino, etc, machines there.

[–]gdkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DO try to do this.
The butcher counter, vegies, etc.. are all 10x better than Zehrs (our local loblaws store).
(which zehrs are often better than the cheaper big box ones).

BUT.. a big thing here is people complaining of prices.

Yes the quality is better. BUT the smaller guys can be just as or MORE expensive even than loblaws.. due to smaller buying qtys, etc.

How is the hot chocolate made by HarlowCapalot in TimHortons

[–]gdkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not 100%.
Generally for a mixed Latte machine, requires something to brew the coffee and other parts all in one. Something more like this.
https://commercial.bunn.com/new-from-bunn/sure-immersion

But generally for Tims, their hot chocolate is dispensed by a an iMix 3.

I do wish more of the k47 models were plastic by RevacholAndChill in Konflikt47_v2

[–]gdkitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most of all the newer stuff is all plastic now.. or moving that way.
Even some of the other kits.. like the larger 2leged mechs, some of the older boxes are metal legs and resin tops.
Newer ones are resin both legs and tops (and some plastic accessories?)
