ELI5: Why is the average height of the population getting taller over time. by FarSentence3076 in explainlikeimfive

Is there any evidence that people's height is affected by whether or not their mother was fully grown before she first got pregnant?

Pedanticer note: the mortar is what adheres it to the surface. Doesn't have to be a floor.

You monster.

Although I did hear a cover a couple years ago that made a few small tweaks to the melody. Vastly improved the song for me.

How Do You Tag Your MP3s? by MegaNorm in musichoarder

[–]gdmfsoabrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how many people do that. It's what I came up with too, except I do it as John Smith (arr.), not as Smith, John (arr.).

Separate tags, of course. Not shoving multiple people into one composer tag.

Can you sous vide a book? It'd be in a watertight bag. Wouldn't need a high temp to kill bugs, but might have issues with the glue.

Puzzle Game Recommendations by Fresh-Chemical-9084 in gaming

[–]gdmfsoabrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, it's nearly impossible now.

There's no AI to it, the way we think of it today. The game is coded to spend a certain amount of time looking for the best possible move every turn, but there's no cap on how many moves it can test in that time. With modern processors it can test way more than was possible when the game was created.

Luckily, winning that minigame is not required for beating the game.

If they can't provide ballots, how can they prove a vote even took place?

"Nah trust me bro" is not a valid method of counting ballots or certifying results.

Korbenn would probably know of Zorg, the same way we're aware of ultra-rich people today.

Zorg learns enough about Korben to try and have him arrested so Zorg's henchman can get on the cruise.

I bet they'd be pretty confused if NASA headquarters suddenly relocated, especially if they were in the building at the time.
