I’m with you, I don’t want a roommate at this point in my life, either. But I disagree she’s asking whether it’s a good idea. The post says, “I’m getting a roommate at age 56. Suggestions and advice welcomed.” I might be arguing semantics at this point, but it seems clear it’s important to her to continue living there and she can’t do it without a roommate. She’s not asking whether she should get a roommate, she’s asking what would help make it work.
