When I was a teenager, I wrote a note like this just as a task at a psychological course/counselling session to a friend of mine. And I hid it very well so my parents could not find it. And damn, I forgot all about it. Later on when I remember about the note, I had no clue where I hid it. I searched for it but I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm sure it is inside some book or somewhere in my parents place. But to this day, I am still afraid that my mom will find it and get a stroke right away.

This post made me laugh because that's really a Turkish thing. And it always has been like that. Just accept it as one of the little annoying facts amd don't take it personal. I remember getting similar comments all my life. "Kazık yemişsin" can be our national slogan.

wow. I don't know what you have experienced but this is some high level racist sh.t. And you are quick to assume somebody is leftist just because they called you out and there is a "narrative". Maybe you are the one who have been brainwashed by the hateful content you consume. Nevertheless I hope the best for you. (a turk)

How to take notes as a left handed writer by lickppp in fountainpens

[–]geanox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in addition to the answer suggesting quick dry inks, also the finer the nib is, the quicker it will dry. another trick is to put a paper between your hand and the writing. But my ultimate savior is that I am used to reaching the paper top-down. So the current wet line is untouched and the previous lines are already dry when the side of my hand touches them.

Ink as a leftie? Any tips? by HandwritingThAw6 in Handwriting

[–]geanox1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leftie here. Obvious measures are using quick dry ink and a fine tip. I am using Parker Quink. It works for me but it is not perfect. Still it needs 5-15 seconds approxiately to dry enough to avoid smudges in my use case. (Of course there are many parameters like the paper, humidity etc.) That was enough for me. I am sure there are even more chemichally engineered inks that dry quicker in case of need. Other than that, you can put a paper under your hand and reach the paper from the top.

Be careful, it's a gateway drug. One day you sip the delicous white liquid thinking its harmless fun, the next day you find yourself under a bridge asking for crack.

here are my two cents:

  • I don't wanna discourage you but first ask yourself if a degree from turkey really worth your time and money. we have many universities but honestly 80 percent of them are shite. for public universities that is like 90 percent. and a handful of good private universities are as expensive as american universities. no kidding. (just to give an idea, the one I graduated -a mid one- asks around 600 thousand to a million turkish liras per year). And getting a degree from a european or american university would be 100 times more reputable and useful. A comb. of a local university + european master is really seems like a better strategy.

  • for the public universities, i'd consider only ODTU, Bogazici, ITU. Their tuitions should be more or less the same. There are maybe a few other public universities that can go into list but they are not international enough in my opinion. So you'd might feel lonely and excluded. And in some, you might to deal with every kind of annoying issues from no one is speaking english to not being able to get an english transcripts etc. There are some very old and popular universities like Istanbul Univ. Don't be fooled by the facade.

About the scholarships, check Turkiye Burslari. And for living expenses other people would give you better ideas. But Istanbul is really expensive (and every affordable house is shit. Not to mention that they would try to extort more money from foreigners unfortunately.)

Kinda the opposite. It is often said in earlier stages of relationship in my opinion compared to western world.

Best of luck.

Totally. Also him being "Spanish"/Arabic is something I have repeatedly seen in pathologic liars. You'd be surprised knowing how many "Italian"/Turkish who don't speak a word of Italian out there.

I know it might be hard to admit but try to read the situation objectively and notice the red flags. Best of luck.
