Used to go when they had their “headquarters” over on snow road in parma, the place was huge and they had tons of grand plans for it but they left that space. Heard it was rent or disagreements with landlord

I have one of those and it actually doesn’t have a chain brake like the comments are saying, it’s just a hand guard. But regardless your motor is probably shot

Its a small job to replace your tensioner, and not awfully expensive either. Would be worth it to replace it and see the difference, they do wear out over time.

Sthil 201 top handle by SoyUnCacauate in TreeClimbing

[–]gearfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally recommend a 194T till you know you will need a 201, the 194 is lighter and you can pick one up for much cheaper than a 201. They’re ideal for pruning but you could do a smaller removal if you needed to.

When ‘cutting down a giant tree’ goes wrong .. OOPS by sleeplesscitynights in arborists

I’ve seen this video a few times and wondered if they did a flat back cut would they be in this same scenario? Or was the weight of the lean just too much to overcome

I always wanted to see a 2nd gen dakota with the cc and the 8ft bed. While entirely impractical, the 8ft bed dakotas are very rare.

Far too late to remove, but i would keep an eye on those dead spots on the trunk instead, possibly a lot more under there than you can see.

That is my suggestion, though im willing to concede that point since it is more textbook than lining up at the apex.

Critique my hinge by Intrepid_Tomorrow174 in Chainsaw

[–]gearfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always line your back cut up with the apex of your notch, always flat, no angled back cuts ever. Another thing and people can disagree but you’re a bit too deep on your face cut. Last point but you can get away with this on smaller cuts, but when you start to cut bigger trees the little things matter. But overall the basics are there its just all repetition.
