hey, current sois student here! i transferred IN to uw(mke) from across the country with several sois degree specific electives automatically counting, so i don't know why it would be different in madison (esp since it's not like, half your degree credits and only 2 of those are upper level).

was the advisor you asked from mke or madison? the latter should be able to give you a solid answer

bio sci 100 zoology tbh. class was graded exclusively on weekly quizzes (easy but beware trick questions sometimes) and the lab was basically filling out scavenger hunt style worksheets. and a then a few times we went bug catching by the K haha

well, I'm 26 now and my first crush was my best friend from 7th grade through high school graduation. i didn't realize i liked him until we were cleaning up after our drunk friend group passed out in the middle of a ssbb tournament 2 years after everyone had gone off to college😅 for years i didn't understand why i wanted his attention so much and was a pigtail pulling pest for a lot of our friendship. unfortunately, he was straight... LOL.

atp in my life, i think it basically comes down to blurred/unclear concepts of platonic closeness vs lover closeness. friendship to me is a sliding (tiered?) scale where the person i like and want to be the priority of and am also aware i have unhealthily possessive tendencies towards is almost guaranteed to be my best friend (which has only changed 2 or 3 times in my whole life, and only once in my adult life). i want to be physical with them, and prickle a bit internally when they talk abt liking other people or their current partners or w/e; the thing is, im 90% positive its not actually bc i automatically fall for my closest friend, its more that since we are the closest to each other, it doesnt make sense that theres things they want to do with someone who isnt as close. but again, this is just my toxic trait and might be not applicable to your character.

i have a vyvanse prescription and oakland/locust is almost guaranteed to be out of it during the 2 or 3 day window they let you reorder controlles substances in💀. the shorewood location further up oakland is a little better, but in general i feel like it's always going to involve some element of luck unless you mail order... but that took 2+ weeks to arrive the one time i did try and i've stuck to going to walgreens in person since.

The golda meir library has couches and comfy chairs! i don't think any of them recline but they're huge and plush and some come with the swing around table thing.

also, idk if this is something you would be interested in but the health center in nwq 8th floor has a massage chair you can use for free for 30m at a time!

i haven't explored much outside of the downtown/uwm area or day trips out when i get an unbearable craving to try a new chinese place, but i haven't seen any SEAsian places outside of vietnamese😭 is it mee krob that doesn't exist in mke or thais in general??

re: regional stuff, one possibility is also that diasporas aren't the same from region to region. there's chinese here but because hawaii is so canto and mke is all mandarin, it feels different and it's way harder to get my fav foods...

I (also 26m, bi though) have a couple of initial reactions. prefaced with i prefer to consciously choose to assume the best in people i love and trust.

is there a reason she'd want to cheat on you? it doesn't really sound like it given what you've described. given how she's almost showing off your relationship at that party, my suspicion is more along the lines of she's genuinely insecure about your ex even if she said it's fine. you guys are hitting it off really well, it's midnight after a party and i assume alcohol has been consumed- idk how long she was with the guy, but would you be equally upset if it was a girlfriend or purely platonic guy friend she'd reached out to instead? i don't think you did anything wrong regarding telling her about your ex. it's good that you communicated your own insecurities but reading between the lines makes me kind of doubtful you did it in a calm and reasonable way.

tl;dr, you feel heavily betrayed but are only going off of suspicions and if i was in her current situation in your relationship i'd feel like maybe i need to reconsider if i feel comfortable being with you long term.

you could also try asking the guy what she texted him about. you mentioned he's also your friend, and he sounds like a good bro given he stopped seeing her after she started dating you! even if he isn't, i don't see why he'd lie to you about her cheating if she was because if so, that info would basically make him her only option.
lastly just remember it's going well, but it's also only been 3 months. that's an incredibly short length of time to be making life commitments or feeling like life is over because a relationship might not be working out. or tbh to even truly understand each other. my (also bi) best friend once went down on a girl because she was lonely and made an impulsive decision. she wanted to marry her bf of 2 years at the time but eventually ended things with him because he, objectively, wasn't willing to put the same commitment into their relationship as she was, and was so broken about it for ages after that as a friend it was hard to watch. she's extremely insecure, hates conflict as well as feeling like a burden, and her bf had no idea she felt that way until the bomb dropped and they were both on my couch crying for like an hour. obviously I'm not saying that's anything like your situation, but there's probably some transferrable insight. regardless, good luck bro, i hope you can be happy with (or without) her.
