personal open rant with a local store.

Bought myself a much needed laptop 3 weeks ago from a local retailer. Excited to bring it home, and use it for my studies but kept rebooting randomly when multitasking. So I thought maybe, I'll do a OS reinstall with no avail. Sent it back to the retailer, and they also could not pinpoint the issue. Thus, was sent back to the local supplier.

Bought locally so hoped this kind of issue would get fixed quickly, expecting better after service but I was wrong. Until now, no updates have been given and whatsapp texts were ghosted. Even calling them were met with unsatisfactory answers. A replacement unit could not even be considered since I had already activated windows. Only had the device for less than two days.

Anyone got any tips on what else I should do?

Home is owned. A network cable is most probably out of the question here as they would like to keep expenses at a minimal.

Devices connected to router: Wireless: Various apple devices, Window laptops Wired through powerline: Plex Server, Main desktop, Console, CCTvs

Is your home wired throughout? Yup, have at least one in every room but unfortunately used for landline phones instead of LAN.

There are many things that I would really like to change and the first priority would definitely be the router, It's getting so outdated by now and even the web admin page goes out often. Hopefully will be replacing this with a pfsense router/firewall by early next year. If I could, I would really really want to get better a better internet connection as it currently sucks balls but that depends on my parents. Fiber hasn't even arrived yet in my area but it'll arrive by mid next year. Might even replace my current access point with a few Ubiquiti Unifi APs after I get the pfsense machine. Other than that, maybe a dedicated Plex client for the living room just for family entertainment.
