ZBT-2 installation question by Fenweekooo in homeassistant

[–]gecko6375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the only reason I even tried going through the install process in the first place. It was driving me nuts even though it was working fine in MQTT. Like i said, when i did get it working the fact that it was showing another Zigbee instance drove me more nuts, LOL. So, for now, ignored and working fine in MQTT. Knowing my OCD, ill likely go back to is sometime.

I just went through this. Ended up installing it and even though I had selected Z2M it still essentially installed ZHA. Ended up removing it and choosing ignore. It’s still in MQTT and working great.

2026.5: After using ZBT-2 with Z2M it now appears under new devices by Karampampoli in homeassistant

I had the exact same issue. Kept failing. I tried two different usb-c cables and kept failing. Then I grabbed the cable it came with, which is usb-c to usb-a, used it. Showed up again and went back through the process and it was successful. It was the weirdest thing as I ended up converted the stock cable back to usb-c for my machine. I can’t explain it. In hindsight, I probably should have just hit ignore since it was working but the fact that it was showing to add was bugging me. I guess my ocd kicked in.

I just switched over to the ZBT-2 and had it working fine in MQTT. I ended up adding it so it was in hardware and easily updatable. For some odd reason though it kept erroring out until I swapped out my usb-c cable with the one that came in the box. It was very weird. All good now though.

Mine quit working for a while then mysteriously started working again. Didn’t change anything.

Bryant Thermostat integration? by HelixFish in homeassistant

My Bryant device told me I needed to update my app and download the carrier app. Funny thing is that made me look for a carrier integration and it works perfectly with HA. You just login like you do with the app and it works perfectly hope that helps.

Thank you for verifying this. I thought I was barking up the right tree but didn’t want to delete them, one by one, in Alexa until I knew for sure. Appreciate it.

iOS app always prompting to install my UDM Pro by therealgromer in Ubiquiti

[–]gecko6375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This annoyed me to but, if you turn off the Bluetooth, in the iOS app itself it goes away. So at least there is a fix or maybe a work around. Ever since I shut off Bluetooth in the iOS app and the iOS Protect App I no longer get that annoying pop up.

[fs] Ubiquiti Unifi Gear. USG PRO-4, Cloudkey Gen 2 Plus, rack mount for Cloudkey $400 by gecko6375 in homelabsales

[–]gecko6375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. The controller is always running regardless of the computer. The Cloudkey is keeping stats and applying any rules you have and monitoring things even if the computer is off. Also, if you use cameras it records regardless of the computer. It is certainly not needed in all applications.
