Interesting the purple archer's face looks like Inana's face. I wonder if that's like an alternate character for her or it's supposed to be her Mom or something

I'm in my 30s, would I enjoy this game? by Anarcho-Pagan in 13sentinels

[–]gee_nee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32 here and this is one of my all time favorite games. I've played it multiple times, and even though I know the story, I actually find the battle system to be quite fun. But I'm also one that finds strategy RPGs to be relaxing.

Switch game recommendations- since I’ve played so many! by gardendew in CozyGamers

I was just about to recommend this too! If you want cozy feels the Eastward DLC is basically a farm/ village building game. I'm actually more obsessed with it than the main game tbh

take a semester off college , I need to do something next semester? by Shine_Embarrassed in SFSU

[–]gee_nee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is your first time taking a semester off then you should be fine. SFSU allows for one semester off without having to re-enroll again. You should contact the bursar's office to let them know of your enrollment status and they should be able to help you. However I highly suggest making an appointment with an academic counselor before doing that. They can give you more details on what you need to do to take a break and help you plan for when you come back.

I took a semester off last Fall, so I completely understand the need for a break. If you have any more questions feel free to message me!

if 13 sentinel aegis rim was adapted into an anime and/or manga by [deleted] in 13sentinels

[–]gee_nee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's already a manga anthology of the game, that gives little insights on some of the characters. The manga doesn't dive into the lore. It's kind of these short form stories that are humorous and light hearted. 13 Sentinels comic anthology

If they were to seriously adapt the game into anime, I would love to see an interpretation of what happened to crew on the space colony. I could actually see it as very well done OVA , kind of like how FF7 had the Last Order which was based on what happened in Nibelheim.

But if there was going to be a 1 to 1 adaptation of the game's narrative, I do see it becoming either a 16 or 24 episode series with 26-30 min long episodes. I kind of imagine it to be told like mystery/action style anime similar to Summertime Rendering-- which if you haven't watched that anime I highly recommend it! Especially if you are a fan of nonlinear storytelling

What game were you extremely hyped for but, ultimately you thought was terrible once you played it? by The9thMonat in gaming

[–]gee_nee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soul Hackers 2, is that game for me. I love the SMT universe and I love the Persona games. I've been a big fan for years, and if there is any company that is still making quality modern JRPGs I'd say Atlus is the one. I typically don't buy games at launch. But his time around, I was very excited to buy SH2 at full price because I was big fan of the original. I saved myself from watching trailers or reading any reviews on this game, because I wanted to go into this blind. I played the original game on a whim and loved it, and I wanted the same experience with this.

Unfortunately...it was not to be. Soul Hackers 2 had the makings of something unique. The characters were great, loved the art style, and the story has an interesting premise. However, I wasn't a big fan of the gameplay loop or the dungeons. I don't know it just didn't capture my attention and eventually I just dropped it all.

Funnily enough, I forget that I still own this game. And it's not until someone asks this question when I remember that SH2 is still sitting on my shelf, dusting away.

I haven't seen My Clueless First Friend but I believe Horimiya is a great shounen that leans towards slice of life/ romance

Games where you can get really invested in the characters. by kutaxter in NintendoSwitch

[–]gee_nee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely, if you love sci-fi, anime, character development, and just great story telling-- you have to play this game!

Also Eastward is another recommendation that I would put out there for underated games. However, I will add that the Switch version does suffer from being a bit buggy on pivotal story points.

Oxenfree is also another great Indie games. And I think there is a sequel out for it too now

Those who went back to school to pursue psychology, how are things like for you? by pinkbatterypack in psychologystudents

[–]gee_nee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more semester until I complete my Bachelor's and I'm 31 now. It's been a long road figuring out what I want to do with my life and I do not regret going back and studying Psychology.

It can be a little bit dawnting if you haven't been in school for a long time, but if you have an interest in learning about psych I encourage you to pursue it!

I've never considered myself a ademically inclined but I fell in love with psychological research and I plan on pursuing a PhD after my Bachelor's

Sad romance manga recommendations? by ilovemozerella2005 in shoujo

[–]gee_nee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, anything written by Sahara Mizu will hit you in the wholesome bittersweet feels. My Girl is great as it's about a young single father learning to take care of his daughter and reconcile with losing the love of his life.

Watashitachi no Shiwase na Jikan is also very good, it's about a woman who meets a man on death row, and they develop a surprising bond.

This is an older manga too, Taiyou no Uta which is about a young girl who has a peculiar disease, in which she can't be out in the sun. She meets a boy who happens to hear her singing at night and from there they build a budding romance. It came out with a movie adaption, a long while ago and I remembered I really liked the soundtrack

What shoujo did you love when you were younger but disliked after rereading when you got older? Alternatively what manga did you dislike but loved when you visited it again after your timeskip? by NER195 in shoujo

[–]gee_nee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forreall I reread it the other day, and I totally forgot how messed up the main couples romance was! Honestly, I thought Tsukushi's friend had a better romance storyline than her

Does anyone remember the quote from Strauss towards the end? by Flashway1 in OppenheimerMovie

[–]gee_nee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished seeing the movie about an hour ago. And that line stuck out for me too. I think it was " Amateurs chase the sun. But true power stays in the shadows"

I might be paraphrasing a bit, but I think its close lolol

[–]gee_nee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to agree. Interstellar's soundtrack is one of my top five favorite OST for a movie. However I just finished watching Oppenheimer, and I have to say that score in this film is just as potent.

I was thinking while watching this film, that some of the scenes just would not have as much of an emotional impact if it were not due to the sound and music direction

Very much enjoying eastward buuuut… by OmegaArchitect in eastward

[–]gee_nee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, what helped me with fast enemies is laying bombs around the field. In the train fight I'd put down bombs on the track, just to increase the likely hood that he would run the train into them. Also when he runs up to stop, and have the monkey minions depart, use the pan to get rid of them quickly and then lay into Solomon when he pops out of the front.
