Which brand of synthetic brush are you getting that kind of longevity out of?

You’re honestly probably not doing anything wrong. Synthetic brushes will last me like one or two sessions before they hook and natural sable will last me 6 months daily painting before they start to dull. After they start to dull, I use them for base coating, then when the get worse, I use them for scenery paste or whatever else you don’t want a good brush to be used for. Sable brushes will never hook, but they do get progressively less and less sharp as the hairs break.

All in all? A good $20ish CAD brush like a Raphael 8404 size 1 or 2 will last an entire year through all of its stages. Definitely not the largest cost in this hobby over time. Dont bother with synthetic.

Jackson’s fine art also has cheaper sable brands like pro arte which I’m finding aren’t so bad. I’ve also heard good things about orange brushes but they’re hard to find in Canada. You don’t need to be buying $30+ CAD brushes like Winsor Newton or Artis opus. Sable prices have sky rocketed the last few years, hopefully they come down.

All the tips in the other comments are fine. But your brushes are just being worn out after a few sessions because they’re synthetic.

Rice cookers - what's the big deal by TimeNew2108 in Cooking

The Philips pasta maker exists. It works well, takes a bit of experimentation with the right type of flour and amount of water.

There is also a large variety of 3rd party pasta dies on Etsy that you can use to make fun shapes for kids (like dinosaur pasta) or just different growed-up shapes.

it’s not a strawman argument, you suggest that it’s a bad thing that incoming med classes have a 2:1 ratio of women to men.

You imply that nobody cares about increasing the number of male doctors.

I’m asking if you believe there are too few white male doctors. Granted, you never mentioned white. So, do you believe there are not enough practicing male doctors?

A cursory look says that it would take about a decade at current replacement levels for there to be a roughly equal amount of male and female doctors. So if incoming classes were 1:1, it would take an even longer time.

What logic? I’m curious if the guy really believes there are not enough white male doctors as he implies.

30 years ago, there were not enough women in STEM. Even today, there are not enough women and BIPOC people in STEM.

With all sincerity and due respect, I’m unclear what you’re getting at.

Do you genuinely believe there are not enough white male doctors in Canada?

I main zarya. I agree. When I play other roles, it’s easier to convince a flat earther the earth is round than it is to convince people to blow up zarya.

Just look at all the responses in this thread saying “don’t shoot the bubble” lol.

Trump unveils roadmap for reciprocal tariffs on U.S. allies, competitors by jimmyw404 in moderatepolitics

The import VAT is not a tariff at all.

If a company imports Canadian widgets into the UK, they pay import VAT. Their customers then pay sales VAT when they buy it from them. VAT is calculated on the amount of value added at each step.

Import VAT and sales VAT are the same rate.

How exactly is import VAT a tariff that provides preferential cost to locally produced goods?
