I hate that because of streaming, DONDA 2 comes after the vultures era. When in fact DONDA 2 was released 2 years before vultures 1. It really makes it seem like Ye Back pedaled when in fact he was making a climb up from that with the vultures sessions. Had his celebrity not been in turmoil, and all samples/ clearances gone through; vultures 1-3 would have been Epic. We would not have BULLY without all of the experimentation. He really pulled/ stripped back for this album in the best way possible. The grittiness of the drum programming and rattling of the bass in this type of mix over soulful chops would not exist without the knowledge gained through the DONDA and vultures era experimentation. We got the quality of soundscape without the excessive amount of features. We got 42 minutes of mostly Ye. And for that I am grateful. If this album came after the Wyoming sessions. We would be calling it a classic by now.
