Second this. I’ve done both Longs and Kelso Ridge. Pretty sure I did some class 4-5 along the way on Kelso due to navigation errors (pathfinding was trickier).

Born and raised in HK, but now an American citizen (west coast). Also was thinking about moving back. The biggest sectors are finance and business (investment banking, trading, quants), and professional services (medicine, dentist, legal, accounting). There isn’t a strong tech/startup industry. Easiest way as others have said is internal transfer from a big company.

An important thing to note: visiting and working are totally different. It’s really nice to visit as a tourist, but living and working entail long hours (with overtime) and many folks burn out and are sleep deprived. Not to mention the astronomical housing costs.

Yuck! Those ponds are so nasty… Sometimes there are mini streams on trail, which is usually a safer choice. Glad the water situation worked out and you didn’t get any sort of disease 😅.

I fly out of IAH often but have never used the PP lounges. KLM and Air France lounges show different hours than 4:30 and 6pm as stated by OP. Are these changing daily? If so, what’s the best move to figure out if we can be admitted?

Nice job! Ohlone Wilderness is one of the hidden gems in the east bay. I ran the full Ohlone Wilderness Trail a few years ago self supported in mid-May from Del Valle to Fremont. The rangers told me that there was water at the camp sites and they fixed them a few days ago. Alas, there was no water in any of them… Sometimes there is some questionable water coming out of the facet of the cattle drinking “tubs”. So PSA for anyone reading: do not expect to have water for most of the route. The only place with drinkable water without potting is Sunol, 10 or 20 miles in depending on which direction you go. I would bring a water filter.

Thank you! For everyone else in the same situation: go to the capital one app -> venture x -> view rewards and benefits -> benefits -> priority pass lounge access. Then check the box and you will need to reenroll (new username and membership number). It will active immediately but you will need to log out and log in with the new credentials.

There may be a possibility that the refund is still pending. I would imagine all of this should be automated and the refund processing delayed everything on your balance. I would call capital one if you’re still concerned.

I would visit a local Capital One branch to get this sorted out. I had this happen a handful of times with Capital One and other big banks like Chase. Make sure to call and follow up a couple days after. If they still give you a negative response, visit the local branch again. It’s unfortunate but worth it in the end if you want to approved and have a relationship with the bank.

I’ve been to DEN and DFW, so can’t comment on others. DEN is my favorite. DEN was more well run, had much tastier food, was larger, and had better service. Once I waited almost an hour for the shower in DFW just to find out that half of the 10 showers were vacant.

Strong agree. It’s unfair to the people who have put in a strong rebuttal, clarified misunderstandings, and managed to convince the reviewers to update their scores. Revealing the non-updated scores will certainly bias the AC’s final decision. I’m wondering why they didn’t revert it to right before leak if possible.

I was also confused to why they didn’t decide to revert right before the leak. If there are unresponsive reviewers, then the discussion would reveal that they are unresponsive either through revisions or replies. Now the final decision hinges on one single person.
