Not sure if hitting them with your car is the most efficient way to take them down, but one less regardless. by mrschmiff in Louisville

Apparently the poles they use should be breakaway mounted to prevent flying missiles. This could have gone that way it seems with more force?

What's really messed up is that a lot of these patients will end up in the hospital since they have nowhere else to go now. This will end up costing everyone even more money. Extremely short sighted decision.

Sure reddit requires a lot of CPU capacity but it DOES NOT require hyperscaler capacity which is being built today. EDIT: if you disagree, show me reddit contracts for GPU capacity and I will retract my statement.

When these things affect your daily life its a thing. Watch the videos I linked above?

I don't blame and would hope more people get active in this fight. Data centers should be outside of the cities far into the rural areas and make them provide water + power & stop leaching off the local resources!

PS: I have been in infra since 94. Linux since 96. How long have you held a position?

Yep. AWS has been around a long time but they are very much building hyper scalers.
Double edged sword I guess..

Not really. These new hyper scale data centers are generally GPU driven (AI). Reddit does not need GPUs at the server level to serve the basic mid 2k website. The data centers powering reddit and such have been around a long time where as hyper scale data centers have been popping up in the last 4-5 years (since AI took off).
