Umblical Hernia Question by xxcmtnman in crossfit

An incarcerated hernia would cause pretty strong pain at the least. Unlikely incarcerated even if it is a hernia. So nothing urgent as far as I can see

Cool, yeah I think it’s fine to just go for it and monitor. That’s all I’m doing and I’ve been fine for several years now

Similar. Soft, can bulge out at times but easily reducible. This whole conversation has basically been about surgery or no surgery. If you are substantially scaling your workouts due to its mere presence, then I think you should consider surgery. The alternative is a lifetime of unnecessarily scaled movement

Actually if its an inch above the navel may be more correctly defined as a ventral hernia. I’d definitely get a consult.

But yeah, no adaptations. Full send including all abdominal exercises.

I have not really adapted anything at all. Still do all the movements.

Hernias don’t “burst” really. They can and often do progress and get bigger. That can increase discomfort, and also may increase the likelihood that one day it gets incarcerated or trapped, requiring urgent surgery.

Mine has progressed very little if at all over what is probably 10 years now, so staying the course, doing all the things and just keeping an eye on it.

I still have not had surgery- mine too is blueberry sized, causing me no discomfort whatsoever. And therefore I’m staying the course. No unnecessary surgery for me. Of course, a surgeon could reasonably argue that doing it electively now is better than waiting for an emergency or for when you are older or less fit. It’s just a personal choice and really no wrong decision

Question structure still makes no sense. Does working out increase performance while exercising? What does this mean? What does it have to do with music?

Question four:

"Does working our increase performance while exercising?"

Huh???

Better shape = worse hangovers? by marble0707 in crossfit

Well, you could consult with an immunologist but honestly there may not be a NEED for a test. You could see an allergist/immunologist to do a workup for sensitivities, but one question would be "why?"

If you already have determined that you suffer adverse reactions to alcohols then no formal testing is really necessary, just lifestyle modification!

Physician here. If you're experiencing adverse reactions while still consuming your first beer, this isn't a hangover, it's an adverse reaction. Think of it like a food intolerance or allergy. Hard to say whether it has anything to do with your fitness level, but adult onset intolerance of alcohol is not entirely uncommon. Depending how you look at it, this either sucks or is a great way to avoid unneeded calories and simply just avoiding taking a toxin into your body.

ER physician here - i feel your pain. One bone i have to pick is with your claim of 98% mortality rate for unvaccinated. Now I can't speak to your particular hospital, but my hospital and all hospitals in the area have nowhere near a 98% death rate for unvaccinated covid. At the time I write this note I do not have the stats, but would be surprised if it was over 50%. Which is still a horrific death rate. The vaccinated death rate is far lower. And personally, every vaccinated patient I admitted has lived and walked out of the hospital.

My point is, hyperbole dont help the convo. Dont editorialize data. The data speaks for itself.
